We need to get our story straight...

The 2013 Marathon Easter Celebration has come to an end!  We managed to only wear three of the four Easter dresses.  Pumpkin refused to change out of her play clothes for dinner at our house last night.  That's cool.  We didn't take any pictures.

Not her fault.

At least not entirely.

I'm gonna work my way backward through the events because I feel the urgency to get our story straight is an absolute priority.

Should Aubrey Kate ask, and it's likely she will since she asks everyone everything, the Easter Bunny does, in fact, come to visit during nap.

Yes, yes, he does.

In what can only be described as my best shining mommy moment, the Easter Bunny was a little late to visit our house.

He was kinda feeling yucky (thank you, Spring and your allergens) Saturday night and didn't really have but maybe three or four fully functioning brain cells after taking handfuls of whatever drug he thought might possibly open up his sinuses so he could breathe.

He realized his oversight Sunday morning when he got up approximately two hours after the kids had gotten up.  At which point, he knew it was too late to have their Easter baskets, say, on the kitchen table for them to see and come running to in their precious pajamas.

So he played it cool.  And told no one about his nap time plans.

After nap, Pumpkin was thrilled to find her very own Easter basket waiting for her on the window seat.

She was super excited!

Which was awesome since the Easter Bunny was on a budget and might have "borrowed" gifts from other events to fill the basket.

Inside her basket was:

1.  A couple of sheets of Easter stickers (Easter Bunny purchase)

2.  Some color wonderful coloring sheets and markers  (Easter Bunny purchase)

3.  A ballerina plastic doll from a McDonald's Happy Meal the Easter Bunny had been saving for a special day (Nana bought the Happy Meal several weeks ago)

4.  A stuffed animal Duck (A re-gift since she actually received it in her first Easter basket but had been hidden away since we put the house on the market in 2011 thus forgetting it even existed making it a perfect addition to Easter Basket 2013)

5.  Three eggs filled with one animal cracker each (Left over from her school Easter party)

6.  One with M&M's (Left-over from her school party)

7.  One egg with jelly beans (Left-over from her school party)

8.  One egg with Starburst (Left-over from the Egg Hunt on Thursday - see below)

Girly could not have been more thrilled.  Seriously.  Which again proves you, nor the Easter Bunny, have to spend a lot to make kids happy.  I...err...the Easter Bunny...could have spent no money at all and she would have been thrilled.

Which was the case with Rhys who received a musical farm yard that was AK's when she was a baby but has also been packed up since 2011.  He thought it was cool.  For about 3 minutes.  Which in 8 month old time, is equivalent to three weeks.

The money not spent will come in handy since about half-way through heating up the corn for Easter dinner, our microwave POPPED and then died.

Buying a new microwave was and is not in the budget.  Super excited about that.

Oh well.

We had some friends from our small group over for dinner.  They came dressed up.  Like going to the First Baptist Church of Fill-in-the-name-of-your-favorite-deep-South-town-here Easter Sunday dressed up.

Chris wore his best khaki shorts.

I actually had on a skirt but that's only because I have real people clothes I only wear about three days a week.  So I squeeze in real clothes whenever I get the chance.

So they looked fabulous.  We looked like it was just another day.

Thus...no pictures.

I did take a picture of the dining room table though.  Come on.  You would have been disappointed if I hadn't.

And, that's Sunday.

Wait?  What about church, you say?

Ah.  See that happened on Saturday.

Is this becoming a common thing around y'all's place?  Our church usually has five services a weekend.  Two on Saturday and three on Sunday.  The auditorium only seats 750 (we're currently building one to hold 1,500).  So five services.

This weekend, the church offered six and encouraged usual attendees to come to the 3:00 pm on Saturday or noon on Sunday service.  We opted to adjust the kids schedules a little to make the 3 pm one.  Rhys was immensely helpful and woke up at 6:30 am and then refused to go back to sleep.  Nap problem solved!  He was awake and happy by 2:00 pm.

Some friends came over to trade off picture taking.  I hate family pictures with one family member behind the camera.  They turned out okay.  I always hate how I have to squint outside.  Makes me look old.

Then again, I am old.

But the kids and my hip husband look fabulous.

Precious Etsy pillowcase dress!  She'll be able to wear this for two years, I suspect.
Here we are!
I mean, this Stud...he's got swagger.
She doesn't sit still very well and wouldn't sit close enough to her brother to make a good picture of them together.  But she's still adorable.

A SMILE!!!!
So blessed...
They were watching while I was crawling on the cement taking pictures of the toddler.

In case you're wondering, the service was FAB.U.LOUS.  Even on Saturday.  And the service was packed.  The church had to turn people away at every service.  Say a prayer for them, if you would.  I hate that.

Thursday we went to our friend's business for their Easter Egg Hunt.  What a cute idea, huh?  Chris helped Aubrey Kate "hunt" for eggs while I visited with the other moms and held a fussy little guy.  She had a blast!  And even ASKED to go see the Easter Bunny.

Right?!?!

Family picture before the Easter Bunny gets us out of the chair...

She looks so big, doesn't she?

Fussy, snotty, little guy...

Her egg haul...

I wanna sit in your lap ~ Aubrey Kate
Now you are officially caught up!  And please don't think I bought four dresses.  I bought one.  The pillowcase dress from Etsy.  The others she already owned and I just spruced up with crafting.  I didn't even buy her new shoes.  She loves the silver shoes she got at Christmas.  She calls them her "slippers" which I think is adorable.

Then again, almost anything she says is adorable.

Except maybe when she tells the other kids in her class the Easter Bunny came during her nap.  That might not be adorable at all.

But at least you and me...we have our stories straight.
