Gratitude: Shopping Partner...

Wow.  I am tired.

Homeboy woke up at 10:45 pm last night.

Seriously.

I had been asleep approximately 42 seconds when he cried out.

My body thought I had had a nap.  I hadn't but I couldn't seem to convince my body of that.

The good news is he slept the rest of the night until 6:45 am.  That part was good.  Although I was all keyed up waiting for him to get up again that what sleep I did get was kind of restless.

Very strange dreams.

I would throw out a thank you for an extra hour of sleep tonight but I suspect the kids didn't get the time change memo.

Let's here it for a 5:45 am wake up call tomorrow.

But...he's really cute.

My favorite part of the day was my fourth and final grocery store visit this morning.  We have a new grocery store opening this week and they've been having sales at specific times over the last several days.  Yesterday was $10 off $50 worth of groceries.  They'd mailed out a slew of coupons last week including a good many free items.

Meme and Buddy have been enjoying their fresh baked french bread this trip.

I've enjoyed smelling it.

Anyway, this morning was a sale on ice cream and chicken.  Now, we don't buy ice cream on a regular basis but this was a huge sale.  I had saved just enough of my weekly grocery budget to buy two gallons for Chris (seriously, I bought flavors I can't eat) and two bags of chicken breasts.

So I had planned on going first thing.  It took me two hours yesterday to purchase those $50 worth of groceries and I suspected with a sale on ice cream, it could be equally as insane.

It was only slightly better at 8:00 am.

Of course, when Aubrey Kate saw me getting dressed, she said, "I want to go with you, Momma!"

Normally, I would have taken the chance to be ALONE since there are grandparents in the house.  But she was so excited and I couldn't resist her jumping up and down.

We talked all the way there (like, seven minutes).  She wanted to talk about the sun coming up.  It helps keep me warm, Momma.  God made the sun, Momma.  It goes down when I go to sleep, Momma.

When we go there, we picked out a green race car cart.  I like green, Momma.  I will have a green bicycle when I get a whittle older, Momma.

She helped me pick out two flavors of ice cream.  Selected chocolate for herself.  I picked Cookies and Cream for Chris.

We put one of the shopping bags in the race car next to her.  She steered us back out to the car.  She gave me her bag to put in the back and then we held hands to walk the cart back to the "parking garage."

All the way home, she talked about ice cream being a special treat.  Just like cupcakes and cookies.  But I can eat fruity o's when I get home, Momma.

As I picked her up out of the car seat, I held her just a few seconds longer than necessary.  Gave her a face full of kisses and whispered, I love you, sweet girl, before putting her down.

I love you too, Momma!

Good gracious alive, I am so grateful to be that girl's Momma.  Thank you, Lord.
