On my birthday last week, Mrs. Jt and I loaded up two grouchy yet awfully cute kiddos and headed to the Pumpkin Patch. Unfortunately for Chris, he doesn't have a day off until November 10th. The pumpkins will be long gone by then. Fortunately for Mrs. JT, we decided to make it a family event anyway.
She's absolutely family.
Honestly, until about mid-week, I hadn't really thought about going. I knew we needed to go but it hadn't yet dawned on me Chris wouldn't be able to make it.
October is simply not a good month for family outings.
So I had to crank out two pumpkin tops quickly.
No bad for an hour's work. Even if I do say so myself.
Which I do.
I figured it would be fun to go on my birthday. A little self-inflicted torture isn't a half bad birthday gift to myself.
The trip did not start out well since Aubrey Kate had refused to take a nap but once we were there, she was thrilled.
Rhys...not so much.
Poor little guy does not like his carrier. Thankfully, he was out a good bit for photo opportunities.
First thing we did was load AK into a precious little red wagon. It was an awesome idea to get her from the car to the Pumpkin Patch but once there, she started taking every pumpkin she could pick up and loading it into the wagon. She was having an absolute BLAST but I did not have $264 to spend on pumpkins. So we unloaded them and ditched the wagon.
We decided to do our posed shots first. Once the toddler got running, I knew there would be no stopping her!
Then we headed to what, I guess, was "the jail." It had doors AK could open and close.
Also known as HEAVEN for a toddler.
Across from the jail was this priceless photo opportunity. Could not convince AK to do it. Not even with marshmallows. But Rhys? He had no say so in the matter.
At this point, Rhys needed a bottle break so Mrs. JT took AK up to meet all the characters. There were lots for her to talk to.

She also managed to get this shot. Which is absolutely amazing. We recreated it later with Rhys. She tolerated that. With possibly more promises of marshmallows.
This was a truck little people could crawl through, on, around and under. Fabulous shot! Goodness, what a sweet face. Oh, I love her!
This was too stinkin' cute to pass up. Rhys, no lie, LOVED this. He fit perfectly inside and he could look around all he wanted. I think we took fifty pictures of this.
We left shortly after these shots. Not all of us were happy about leaving. There may have been a fit pitched. But Mrs. JT was able to help me get control so we could head home for a birthday dinner of pizza and a Route 44 Coke Zero with Diet Cherry.
Ranks as one of my favorite birthdays ever.
Adorable children,shirts and photos!
