What a lovely week!
We shopped. Saw a movie. Went to the Zoo. Read lots of stories. Played lots of puzzles. Picked out a Pumpkin at the Patch. Took a million pictures. Ordered in pizza. Bought a vintage 1940's outfit. Gave lots of kisses. Received lots of hugs.
Today, we loaded up Rhys and headed to Chris' second marching competition. Rhys does not like the carrier. At all. But he loves sitting up in my lap and looking around. So that's what he did. We saw three bands, including Chris', and then walked down to find Daddy. Once we found him, he took Rhys out of the stroller to show him off.
All in all, Rhys was out of his carrier and looking around about 90 minutes.
Which, shock of shocks, equals over-stimulated baby.
Of course, 90 minutes of that meant 90 minutes of out and out screaming.
Good times.
In the midst of all that, I mindlessly kissed my toddler's granola bar covered face.
Glutenation.
More good times.
So currently, I am thankful neither of my children is old enough to tell time. Because they both went to bed early tonight.
Grateful Rhys enjoyed the bands. He didn't fuss at all.
Also grateful Aubrey Kate was excited about staying with a babysitter instead of being jealous her little brother was going with us. I wasn't entirely sure she would be down with that plan but the babysitter is awesome.
And, just keeping it real, I am pretty grateful OU beat Texas. Soundly.
However, I am grateful Aubrey Kate now knows and loves to sing "War Eagle." Yes, it's as cute as you can imagine.
Grateful for Aubrey Kate's school. They do "morning prayers" when they thank God for each day and then whatever each kid wants to list. I'm totally on board with that. Of course, she wants to say her morning prayers all the time. Mostly she's grateful for her friends and teachers but sometimes she'll surprise me. Such as today when she said she was thankful for food. That's new.
But the cutest was earlier this week. She has a little friend at school named Deacon. He's a super cute kiddo. They must be good friends because she is always talking about him. Sometimes she will name her friends she's thankful for and sometimes she will simply say "my friends." Unless she says, "Thank you for lots a, lots a, lots a Deacons!"
I can understand that. Because, apart from my current state of glutenation, I am MOST grateful this week for lots a, lots a, lots a Mrs. JT!
Life if better with good friends.
