Merry Christmas and Happy Eight Months! I am so excited to be 8 months. Because all the books tell Mommy and Daddy I should be crawling any minute and that is all I want from Santa.
Just to crawl.
Please Santa! I want to move!
Alright, so with that out of the way, let's get on with how I've grown the past month.
Isn't Aubie the cutest? I'm really starting to like the little guy. He's just not that big any more and he's great to chew on.

A couple of weeks ago I started speaking English. Not that I couldn't have done it before but I was waiting for just the right moment to spring it on the parents. So a Thursday afternoon on the way home from school seemed like just such a moment. Mommy was so excited.
But then she told Daddy. And now all they do is look at me and try to get me to say Dadda and Mamma. "Dadda" I got. Although it's more like dadadadadad but it seems to make Daddy really happy. Mommy is still waiting for Mamma. Instead I'm hitting her with "ki" and "wi" and "ti". In fact, I like the long "i" sound. A lot. Kinda sounds like Japanese they say but I'm not entirely sure what that means.
By far the most frustrating thing is that I can't crawl. I want to. Badly. I get up on all fours and do what Mommy says is the "baby rock". Really there's nothing rockin' about it. It's annoying. The only fun part is that Mommy and Daddy are constantly crawling around showing me how to do it. Don't tell them but once I figure it out, I might just keep it a secret so they'll keep doing that. It's priceless. Where's the video camera when I need it?
My favorite part of the day is bath time. I can move! I spin and crawl and scoot and anything else I can to keep the parents chasing me around. I eat the washcloth and the frog and the duckie and the turtle. I'd eat the drain if I had half a chance. And I talk a lot. With maybe a squeal or fifty-four thrown in there for fun. If it weren't for the fact that the water gets cold, I'd stay in there all night long. Right now, the parents let me stay in for twenty minutes or more.
There you have it. Eight whole months. It's been fun so far. I'm a happy kiddo. And all my teachers and friends are all kinds of sweet. See ya'll next month! Can hardly wait to see what I'll be doing in 2011!
Happy Eight Months Aubrey Kate!! Aunt Carrie loves you!
