It’s a list! A list! Woo-hoo for the list!!!
1. It’s September! – Some fabulous women start journeys this month! I am hopeful and excited for them all. This is process is like nothing else I can imagine. Believing with all your soul the Lord CAN do a miracle and yet also knowing that just might not be His plan. It’s trusting and letting go but also doing everything you can to be healthy and ready to receive that miracle. In other words, it’s big. So I’m saying big prayers!
2. Football Season – It’s like Christmas…for 4 months! It’s the one time of the year Chris and I don’t have to retreat to our separate TVs. If there’s football on, we’ll watch it. Don’t care who’s playing. Not sure how my Tigers or my Sooners will do this season but I love watching! We go to our first OU game of the season tomorrow while our DVR’s are working overtime recording the games we’ll be missing. If you need us Sunday, we’ll be watching those games.
3. Day Off – I now wake up pretty much at 3:00 am every morning. Not a clue why but I just do. On Friday & Saturday nights I can manage to go back to sleep because I guess mentally, I know I don’t have to get up for a while. But during the week, I just lie awake waiting for the alarm to go off. Now I get to add one more night of delicious sleep to my weekend! Maybe I’ll be less likely to fall asleep at my desk next week.
4. The Heat – Don’t worry, it’s still stinkin’ hot but it’s down to like 91 during the day and rather comfortable in the mornings. I love feeling the summer leaving and the fall arriving. I can’t wait for that crisp feeling to come along. I smile just thinking about it.
5. Luke Edward – Stephanie’s little guy was born last Friday! What a miracle he is! And absolutely adorable. Just a reminder of how great our God is.

Thank you Lord for this season both as a fun time of year and as a part of our life’s journey. There is much to learn in each season of life. From waiting, hoping and praying for our miracles to then holding him in our arms, each moment is a blessing and a treasured part of the plan You have for our lives. Give us peace, help us find the joy in life and most importantly, guide us along Your path for us.
I'm not sure I share the excitement for football season. I already have plans to make Luke and Robert football food and let them sit in front of the TV all day. I guess that means I'll have lots of time to work on the book.
ReplyDeleteAmen!
ReplyDeleteHey--how are you finding updates about Stephanie? I often think of her, and am really glad to hear everything went smoothly with the birth of her son. If you are emailing with her, please tell her I said congrats!
ReplyDeleteThank you for being thankful for my little miracle! Can't wait to see a picture of Baby E! And George just laughed when he read about you getting up at 3am - I so did that for weeks - it too shall pass and then you can't seem to get enough to sleep and then after about 33 weeks or so you can't stay asleep!! Its so weird the patterns your sleep takes!
ReplyDeleteI usually miss my hubby during football season, but I am really going to make an effort this year to enjoy the games more this season!! ;)
