Baby E and I enjoyed both our Tigers and our Sooners pregame music for lunch today.
Several times.
We may have even done a little bouncing around in our seats. Vivi would say we were “be-bopping around”. My mom would say we were being “wiggle worms”.
I’m totally stealing both those phrases too. Just wanted to get that out there.
We then sang Auburn's alma mater together. I think Baby E got more emotional than I did singing about the rolling plains of Dixie.
Or maybe that was the Taco Bell I had for lunch.
We both felt it was important to let all of you, our beloved friends and family, know that we are making school spirit a priority. Train up a child in the way he should go, right?
And I would like to say, it would be most awesome if OU would post their stand tunes online like Auburn does. Why? Because Chris arranged OU’s first down cheer and it rocks. Still get a little teary hearing it. Sorry, can’t help lovin’ that man of mine.
Oh, and Mrs. Skinny, Willie will definitely make the list. We’ll protect E from all things (OSU) cowboy related. Excellent recommendation. And if you need some place to stay while visiting Arlington (cause I know you’ll be there), our guest wing is open, clean and ready for visitors.

OK, that's what I'm talking about!! Nana :)
ReplyDeleteI'm learning to enjoy football more...if I don't then I hardly see my husband during the season!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I'm so glad you are happily enjoying your taco bells favs again! ;)
Could it be that U of O has a presence on iTunes U. They might have some band audio there, if you haven't checked.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting this school spirit stuff. Tony Barnhart once wrote something to the effect that the Auburn-Alabama game isn't a rivalry football game, but a clash of two different ways of life. Noah and his best friend grow up next door, attend the same school and both are Christian homes. Yet, she is taught to say "roll tide" when asked what and elephant says, and I'm teaching Noah to "Aubie" when asked who's Auburn's mascot.
