Hold 'chew, Momma...

Aubrey Kate is not the only little in the family going through some adjustment.

Look. At. That. Face.

The first day of school, Rhys cried most of the four hours Aubrey Kate was at school.  He kept asking, "Pick up Sister now, Momma?"

Going to the "kid's park" at the gym has proven to be the most difficult time for him.  We've been going to the gym for over a year now and spent almost every day there while AK was in school last year.  But something about this change from summer going with Sister every day to having to go by himself every other day has thrown him for a loop.

It's creeping into Sundays too.  He cries when he goes in and cries when other kids get picked up and he hasn't been yet.

Unfortunately, his behavior is not completely consistent.  Some days he's a rock star at the kid's park and other days, he only makes it 30 minutes.  There's no predictor either.  At least that I can tell.

At home, he's needier too.  Lots of "hold 'chew, Momma" and crying and general fussiness.  If Sister is playing with him, he's on cloud nine.  If we're snuggled up reading books, he's totally content.

But if I have to actually do something, you know, like FIX A MEAL, heavens.

For the most part, I fix dinner during nap or throw it in the crock pot first thing in the morning.  But lunch, that is the one meal I...put together.  Hot dogs, ham and cheese roll ups, grapes, carrots, crackers...stuff that has to be "gathered" but not made.  Rhys hates every minute of the gathering process.

Plus, he won't eat it either.

He's a horrible eater.

Overall, this adjustment for him has been pretty hard on me.  Combine his neediness with AK's awful mood thanks to her dislike of rules and such, it's been kind of challenging.

Minus the "kind of" part.

Praying Little Man here adjusts soon.  I miss my happy, disaster of a guy.  He's much more fun.  Also challenging but in more entertain manner.

Dog!
