Oh glorious Sun! I think we literally spent every minute we possibly could outside this weekend. Friday was our usual afternoon park outing. Saturday, we left the house at 8:15 am and didn't come home until almost 2. Just to squeeze in a nap. And Sunday afternoon, the kids played outside during small group.
It was FABULOUS!
Well, apart from the red faces I discovered Saturday night after baths.
Apparently, the pale people require sunscreen even in the winter months.
Of course, I knew this. But it was not so much at the front of my brain. What was at the front was a whole lot of fussing over packing the perfect picnic lunch and making sure there were snacks in the car for the oh-so-long car rides of 12 minutes to the park.
Thus, red faces.
Mine was the worst. Rhys' was the...best?...least? I think that's because he actually moves faster than the rays of the sun can catch him.
AK and her friend, Beau. Are they not the cutest? |
Saturday night, we all worked together to make cupcakes for Daddy's birthday. AK was especially excited. Although, she wasn't thrilled about the vanilla flavor. Clearly, strawberry is optimum but it wasn't her birthday.
After the kids went to bed Saturday night, I went to work making Thanksgiving dinner. Only not Thanksgiving. But it's Chris' favorite meal. In my family, we love with food. And it was some darn yummy lovin'.
Oh, and there was Valentine's Day! Chris sent me flowers and got us tickets to see Chicago and REO Speedwagon in August! I'm totally excited! Also wildly curious to see what gets planned on that night in August...in the middle of marching band rehearsals...when he swears he will absolutely be free. So if anyone would like to serve as my "stand-in" should something some up, let me know!
Hope y'all had a good weekend!
Oh, and be warned. I am working on my "7" post. You're gonna need three days to read it. Go ahead and clear your schedule.
What a lovely weekend! The sunshine and warmth is good for the soul. See you all soon :-)
