Hi and welcome to Day 21 of the bronchitis/whooping cough/Plague I can't seem to kick.
(No, Mom, it's not really whooping cough.)
(Nor The Plague.)
(But it feels that way.)
Still got lungs full of stuff, waking up at night with coughing fits and attempting to sleep sitting up.
Good times.
But, as my doctor reminded me, these things can last up to 28 days. I'm holding her to that. Because if we're still hovering over this GUNK by next Friday, she'll be seeing me again.
The silver lining, if there is such a thing, is that all this hacking has prevented me from exercising and thus, I feel like my knee (which I never mentioned, dear Internet, but let's just say PAIN and leave it at that) has been getting all kinds of awesome rest.
Plus, I figure the steroids, that are suppose to be helping my lungs but are really just upping my appetite to IVF drug levels, can't hurt either.
Between the knee issues and The Plague, my 5K time on February 22nd ought to just be out-of-this-world awesome.
Really.
Although, I'm not running (and by running, at this point, I mean walking) the 5K for a time.
But for a girl.
Abby.
You can read about her here.
This little girl is a miracle. Run for Hope ran to help raise funds for an adoption last year. This year, they are running for Abby and a new liver.
So many wonderful people are running. This is a group started by our church in Arlington. Those folks, y'all. They know how to DO SOMETHING.
I hope y'all will take a minute to read about Abby. Read about Run for Hope. And maybe throw some change or even dollars in the pot. Small amounts add up. Here's the link for the fundraiser.
We all say it often. How thankful we are to have healthy children. Healthy family members. I got a little teary waiting for Chris to come back with my prescriptions on Tuesday. Because seriously, for under $20 and less than five miles from my house, were all the medications my doctor prescribed.
THAT is a miracle.
Abby is waiting for a liver.
And when she gets it, oh what a day of rejoicing that will be.
Love y'all!
