So...if you're keeping track (and I suspect all seven people who read this have better things to do), I have missed two days this month. The first was thanks to the migraine. The second was yesterday and that was thanks to a day spent cleaning like crazy and a night spent on a movie date with Chris.
Yes, we went to see the new Twilight movie.
And it was awesome.
We went to the fancy "cinema suites" that are 21 and over only. Yep, they serve alcohol there. But you know who's not there?
Teenagers.
We got dinner, some caffeine, put our feet up in the reclining leather chairs and enjoyed a good movie.
It was blissful.
Thanks to a sweet friend, Abby, from our small group, we knew the kiddos were well watched over.
And by "watched over", I mean she literally watched them sleep on the monitor. They were both in bed when we left.
Why did I never have those kind of babysitting gigs?
We were so grateful she offered to watch them. Such a blessing!
Tonight another family in our small group is spending the evening in the hospital with their littlest guy. He's been sick for a over a week now. The doctor sent him to the hospital for dehydration.
Aubrey Kate has been very concerned that Bryson is sick. She keeps asking "but why did Bryson get sick?" Seems like such a simple question but the answer is not easy. Although I love how worried she is. Makes praying for him with her very easy.
For me, being asked to pray for someone is an absolute honor. We're praying for them as they put the IV in his little, dehydrated arm. Goodness, if there's anything I know, it's that our God loves when we come to Him.
This small group is relatively new. We've only been together since May. But I adore how we have all dove into each other's lives. It takes a while to build a true community with new friends.
Date night swaps and praying for each other is a pretty fabulous way to get to that true community though.
Lord, thank you for bringing these wonderful people together.
