This past Sunday, we got a chance to finally formally introduce Aubrey Kate to a potential husband.
We are all about the arranged marriage.
Just seems simpler that way, you know? None of that dating mumbo jumbo where Chris feels like he might need to purchase a rifle. And he may or may not plan on having it on the coffee table when suitors come to call.
I am anti-firearm in the house.
But I am very pro threatening-hormonal-driven-teenage-boys-within-an-inch-of-their-life-should-they-even-think-an-impure-thought-about-my-daughter.
Thus. Arranged marriage.
Mrs. Eartha and Posty have a miracle little man. James. And I swear, it is all I can do not to call him Baby James. Although I don't feel the need to add in "sweet". Odd.
Anyway, over came Baby James.
He is almost four months to the day younger than Pumpkin. Mrs. Eartha and I both managed to meet (can I still say "delivered" when it was really more of an extraction?) our miracle babies on our actual due dates.
Likely you are not as impressed by that as we are.
Our kiddo wasn't sitting up fully on her own at six months so I wrongly assumed Baby James wasn't either. We figured that out about 30 minutes into their date. Thankfully, James didn't give me that "are you that dumb?" look. Kids are generally fabulous at that look. Aubrey Kate is specifically awesome at it.
But James' parents are way smarter than we are so he likely has yet to perfect his look.
After we put James on the floor, Aubrey Kate scooted right on up to him and did her usual introduction ritual.
Putting her finger in the stranger's mouth.
She's so lady-like. We're working on it.
Initial introductions out of the way, she proceeded to ignore his presence.
Completely.
Playing hard to get.
She did come over to him once to give him a toy. It was his toy. That she'd stolen out of his car seat sitting on the floor.
But I totally thought it was the sweetest thing ever.
I love her.
So below is the documentation of James and Aubrey Kate's first meeting. How awesome will this be at their rehearsal dinner? Which I will tell you will be decorated in aqua and yellow. Because those are Mrs. Eartha's favorite decorating colors.
The video is not really all that action packed. But I felt we needed to go ahead and introduce the grandparents to their possible grandson-in-law. He's pretty cute. And if he turns out to be half as an amazingly sold-out Christian that his sweet parents are, Aubrey Kate and our entire family will be blessed beyond words.
You can check out the cutest pictures ever of James on his parent's blog.
Well, just to let you know this seldom works out. We had both you and Adam "arranged" on several occasions but somehow neither of you listened to us. Turned out God did a much better job in placing you both in right place to get the job done. We thank Him every day for taking care of that little item for us.
ReplyDeleteCome to think of it He did a pretty good job with me and Sandra to. Don't exactly she why she bought into this marriage thing with me, but I sure am glad God worked his magic for me.
