Look how small Aubie is now! Mommy and I did the unofficial weighing thing again and I'm just over 20 lbs. Then Daddy used some sort of long ruler to measure me when I was standing up at the couch (hello favorite thing!) and it said I'm 27 inches tall. The fancy growth chart says that means I'm still petite. I like it. I'm getting to wear my clothes for a long time!
See this little dress? Mrs. JT gave it to me last summer and it's a 0 - 3 months. It still fits! I think I look pretty cute, if I do say so myself!

Just this week I surprised Mommy by showing her I can feed myself with the bottle. I just picked it up, put it in my mouth and went to town. I only did that for fun. I have no intention of doing it again. I mean, she's tried to give it too me but I am refusing to take it. It seemed like it would be cool to frustrate her.
It was too easy really.
Also this week I decided it was time to eat something other than mushy baby food. I'm almost a year old now. I need to work on maturing my palate. Mommy got me some puffs to go along with the yogurt bites I've been eating. Also tried apples, peaches, blueberries, strawberries and bananas. The peaches are too slippery but the others were okay. The blueberries were a little messy. I'm still adorable though.

Oh! And I am all about talking these days. No one seems to understand me so I'll keep trying. "Daddy" is pretty easy to understand. And he seems to really like it when I say it to him. Mommy keeps asking me to say her name and I have but only a couple of times. I also said "Kate" twice. That seemed to make Mommy happy.
I have another little game I play with Mommy. She says "Say Mommy" and I say "Daddy" or "Dadda". She loves that game! Actually, she can say any word and I say "Dadda". The other night she said, "Say Buzzard" and although I didn't know what that was exactly, I went ahead and said Dadda.
That made Daddy laugh and Mommy roll her eyes. I think that means I made a funny!
As far as the standing goes, I am loving that. I will stand at the couch and talk, talk, talk. I've started walking from one end to the other. A lot. I still am not interested in walking with someone holding my hands but honestly, I don't like to have my hands held at all. Those are mine. I know. I'm weird. Daddy is convinced I will be walking soon but Mommy thinks it could still be a couple of months. We'll see!
Mommy mentioned that I love to read books. And I do! Last week, I handed her a book for her to read to me for the first time. Now I'm handing her stuff all the time. Pooh, Huggums, cell phone, Stripes...anything I can grab and hand to her. She's trying to teach me manners I think. She keeps saying things like Thank you and telling me to say something like You're welcome. I'll work on it and then spring it on her when I have it perfected.
Mommy and Daddy are doing more of this strange discipline thing too. They won't let me roll off the changing table or stand up in the bathtub or play with the fireplace tools. I crawl right over to the fireplace tools, look back at Mommy and then I get "The Look" from her while she says "No ma'am." I don't touch but I want to! The bathtub and changing table are still difficult. I want to be up! We'll have to keep working on those two I guess.
Okay, last thing, I promise! I'm getting my first tooth. Bottom one. And I do not like it. It makes me hurt. But I know Mommy and Daddy are doing all they can to help me!
Enjoy the pictures! Next month, I'll be one!!!
Can anyone convince Mommy that I do not like the bows???? Please. I'm begging.
Fussy moment. I have them a lot these days. Mommy and Daddy say it's the teething.
