I realized today that I haven’t been doing a very good job of keeping everyone updated on Little E. For the most part, we are just hanging out these days. Nothing exciting going on. Which is a good thing.
We are at 35 weeks today. 35 weeks. Still completely unbelievable to me.
She’s doing a lot more wiggling than kicking now. Pushing and poking mostly. My belly does a lot of moving around and no lie, it’s pretty funny.
This past Saturday, we attempted to get a sneak peak at E with one of those fancy 3D/4D ultrasounds.
And she was not having it.
For most of the pregnancy, she’s been snuggled up on my right side. And she still is. She’s breech so her head is just under my ribs, her bum is to the right on my belly button and her feet are doing the happy dance on my bladder.
And she’s facing in towards my spine.
No amount of jiggling or turning my body or apple juice would make her turn her head to face the camera. What’s even better is that she had her arms wrapped around her face like she was deliberately hiding.
It really only confirmed my thoughts on how sensitive she is to light and temperature. She is the most active when she’s covered with blankets. I can be on the couch, in bed or sitting at my desk with my coat draped over me. Doesn’t really matter. As long as she’s warm and it’s the darkest it can possibly be, she’s pretty happy.
I can’t tell you the number of times she’ll get to really wiggling and I lift up my shirt to see only for her to stop. Completely. It’s the most interesting thing.
We can confirm though that with out a doubt she has the cutest ear we’ve ever seen. A perfect, little, precious ear.
We were both disappointed but it will just make her birthday even more special. It will be first time she sees us and we see her. Kind of cool really.
Other than that, we are just working on getting the final details pulled together. We’re washing blankets and little onesies like crazy. The bedding is all in and I just have one last initial frame to finish. Decorations are hung. Car seat’s installed. And the mirror so I can see her when I drive. My hospital bag is packed and in the trunk. We’ll get E’s bag packed this weekend. And daddy’s too. We finally picked and registered at the hospital. All my leave requests have been submitted at work. And hopefully, my assistant is starting to feel like she can handle everything while I’m gone.
Basically, everything that can be done has been done.
With the exception of E deciding to turn. Let’s pray something motivates her to leave the comfy spot she’s been in for the last several months. I suspect trying to manually make her turn would be pointless. She’ll turn if and when she’s good and ready so it would seem.
Sounds a lot like her mamma, doesn’t she?

LOVE IT! She'll be here before we know it and she'll be beautiful...with a perfect ear!
ReplyDeleteHave loved reading your blogs! Just a note...Holly was breach when I went into labor. Dr. tried turning her and just about decided he would have to do a C. A group of my friends found out about it, went to the church and started praying and she just flipped! We, at the hospital, didn't know they were praying until later. It was totally an answer to prayer. So... we must all pray for Baby E to turn!
