Wow. Thanks so much for the responses!
Lurkers? I have lurkers? I LOVE it!
Welcome and so glad to meet you!
Are there more of you out there? If so, let me know. I’d love to hear from you and start following along with your life’s journey.
I heart the internet.
Alright, so along with the comments on the post, we received lots of emails and texts and phone calls offering advice.
There really isn’t much that everyone agrees on except that we should under no circumstances do the manual manipulation.
Which is excellent since I wasn’t at all interested in that.
Isn’t it nice when everyone comes to an agreement where we are all happy? No pushing stuff through say an elected governing body in a rush.
Anyway, so far we have tried two things: swimming and ice. Thankfully, not at the same time.
We’ve been swimming now three times. And it totally rocks.
One, because for 30 blissful minutes I completely forget that my back and my belly are at war. So far, Belly is winning and I am consoling Back with lots of warmth from the heating pad and a Peep or 20.
Who doesn’t love a Peep during Easter?
Two, Chris and I go together and no lie, I am loving spending time my awesome husband away from 24, lesson plans, back pain and the 4.6 million others things that keep us in separate rooms at the house.
Three, the exercise is good for me. We don’t move fast by any means but I’m using my arms and legs to dog paddle through the water and the resistance is nice.
But for all the niceness of swimming, it’s doing nothing to make E turn. She seems fairly content in the water. Belly is lose and with the exception of last night, she stays really quiet the entire time. But so far it hasn’t motivated her one bit to move. We’ll keep trying.
Now the ice. Someone recommended putting ice on her head. The idea being that she would turn away from the cold to warmer waters.
This one worked. Sort of. She did move down. It was the lowest her head’s ever gotten. We were really hopeful. Until I got up the next morning and she was smack back where she started.
We left the ice on about 15-20 minutes. She certainly didn’t like it but I can’t be all that sure how cold it really got in there. Seems to me there’s a lot of “stuff” the chilly temperatures would have to travel through to get to her head. But she was responding.
We may try this one again this week. If it doesn’t work then, we’ll just let it be.
And there you have it. Nothing has changed except we’ve had some interesting experiences trying.
Girly is entertaining at least. From an 11 celled rock star embryo on day 3 to a hatching blastocyst beauty on day 5 and now a center of attention strong willed little girl who is perfectly happy letting us fuss all over her. Heaven help us when she arrives. I think she may give Chris a run for his money in the “I’m the star of the show” department.

I don't. I don't love a Peep. Ever.
ReplyDeleteMake that two who don't love a Peep. At Easter, St. Patrick's, Valentine's, New Years, Christmas...you get the idea.
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't know about the cold but I do know about the heat. Moms-to-be are told not to sunbathe long in the sun because the fluid will get to warm for baby. So it might be true for cold.
ReplyDeleteI love Peeps! This could be the reason you do because you always got them in your Easter basket.
Mom
Count me as a member of the No Peep Love Club. Have you tried just politely asking her to turn the right direction?
