Well, we went back to the doctor today. And she has moved. From an side-ways breech (oblique I think is what he called it) to a full-on head laying on my lungs breech.
This would explain why on Sunday after church I told Chris "we have a new pregnancy symptom. I can't breathe". Little E is pushing on my lungs.
The doctor says I've "dropped" but since her big ole head is up, I don't look like it. He said I should be feeling more pressure but really, all I feel is that my belly is really, really heavy. Maybe that's the same thing?
And then the fun stuff started.
I am 37 weeks. I know. Hard to believe. I hear ya.
But my belly is measuring 34 weeks. Not great but might not be bad either. We jump right up and head for the ultrasound.
He hits the bottom of the belly first and says, "yep, those are not her head". Up to the top of the belly. Ah, there's her head. For the next 10 minutes, he measured all of her and me. Head, legs and waist are all measuring about the same size. 35 weeks.
Likewise, my fluid level is also still high and right around 35 weeks.
She's weighing in a 5 lbs 8 oz. Or right about what she should be if we were...right...35 weeks.
All in all, it looks like we have a small but healthy baby.
The funny thing is had we not done IVF and known the EXACT date of fertilization, they might be questioning our due date! But there's really no doubt about it. There were about eight people in attendance when sperm met egg. Far more than the old boring traditional method.
The good news about all this is the grandparents living a million and a half miles away in Alabama will be here for her arrival.
I do love a schedule. And apparently, so does E.
So we have a little over two weeks before our now officially scheduled c-section. And I could not be more excited.
Little one, we can't wait to meet you!
Baby E knew to be a member of this family she had to "schedule" her appearance, none of this spontaneous appearing. HA! We will all take her anytime she wants to meet us. Can't wait. See you soon. Love Meme and Buddy
ReplyDeleteI'm sooooo excited!!!
ReplyDeleteTwo weeks!? Are you kidding me right now?! Wow!!!! And there are distinct advantages to a C-section. Talk w/ Corrie about her experiences--mine were so long ago, they've changed everything:)
ReplyDeleteWe are so excited for you and can't wait to meet our newest great niece!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Ray
Yes I think it's safe to say we are all a family of schedules. I have everything arranged at school for me to come and Puddin bought the plane tickets last night. We can't wait! Love, Nana
