Gratitude Friday...

Mrs. JT is here for her annual shopping, scrapbooking, football-watching, marching band weekend. It rocks. Yesterday, we visited our favorite little town for some lunch at the most adorable little cafe. They have a fabulous antique-craft shop there as well. After that was the scrapbook shop. I spent serious cash. Embarrassing amounts. But the good news is I should be set through the rest of the year.

Wednesday night, Mrs. JT gave me my birthday presents. Honestly, her coming out here is gracious plenty. I couldn't ask for anything else. But she does it every year. And she knows me so well, the presents are always perfect. This year is no exception.

Baby E is now the proud owner of a "Spots" (that's what Noah calls his security blanket). But ours is a "Stripes". It's our very own soft, snuggely, baby sized Tiger blankie.

I spent the whole night petting it and loving on it. Chris said, I'm not so sure E will get that blanket. I said, six months ago I wasn't at all sure we'd ever have a Spots so I'm just gonna keep right on petting it. And I cried. Why? Because that's what I do these days.

So this week, I am grateful to have Mrs. JT here, grateful to have found such a great scrapbook store, grateful for Stripes and especially grateful to have a baby on the way in need of Stripes. Thank you Lord for all blessings, great and small.

  2. If Baby E is attached to it as Noah and several other babies we know, you'll need some spares. Although, Cohen (Brandon's boy) never took to another one, but Noah uses his interchangeably. Sometimes even getting them all. But Noah originally liked it because it was something to hold. He liked holding the burp cloth or a rag when he was less than 6 months.

  4. I'm so glad you and Mrs. JT are having a great time! I love Stripes! If it is going to be like Noah's Spots, get several whenever you see them. These are not easy to find. I need one at my house for Noah and I haven't found his Spots yet!
Here at home we've (Pudding, Adam & Carrie) been talking about which one we should get for Baby E. Mrs. JT decided that for us and I'm sure I'm speaking for all of us when I say, "Thanks Mrs. JT!" We were having trouble deciding. Love, Mom (Nana)
