Happy Anniversary!

Today is my parent’s 37th wedding anniversary! I have always had an enormous amount of respect for the marriage my parents created.

Dad always believed in Mom. Told her she could do anything she set her mind to doing. And so she did. With two little ones, she earned her bachelor’s degree, went on to get her master’s and then decided to become a nationally certified teacher. All with Dad’s blessing and more importantly, his support.

Mom has always been proud of Dad. I remember walking through his office building and listening to my mom talk about what a great place it was and how hard Dad worked. Over the years, Dad’s taken care of not only our immediate family, but his parents and my mom’s family as well. Those tasks quickly became almost another full-time job. But he did it because that’s what needed to be done.

Their road hasn’t always been easy for sure. But they continued to love one another, work together and play together.

Now, Mom, stop telling Dad to slow down and Dad, please close all the kitchen cabinet doors. If you guys could do those two things, life would be sheer bliss. Although not nearly as funny. We love you!

  2. Hey Ladybug, Thanks for the Blog. Time seems to move so fast. It doesn't seem that long ago we were standing in my parents living room for the Christmas dance. Now here we are in Charleston and all of you are halfway across the country from us- together. I hope you are having a good visit. We love you all!
