Heart-full weekend…

What a wonderful Valentine’s weekend! My divine mother ran her first 5K race on Saturday! I’m so proud of her. I wish I could have been there to cheer her on! Dad took photos for us. Doesn’t she just look fabulous?!?

I decided after emailing both Fanny and Stephanie I was cooking Chris’ second favorite meal, tacos, for our Valentine’s dinner that maybe I should just go ahead and cook him his favorite meal, turkey and dressing. So I did. Actually, I did a lot on Saturday. I did 6 miles first thing then got ready for the day with a breakfast burrito. I cleaned the house and did all the laundry. I baked cupcakes on Friday night so I thought, let’s just go all the way and really make him happy! Clean house, happy wife, wonderful dinner, delicious dessert. What more can a man ask for?

He’d been teasing me about my gift for several days. He almost can’t keep a secret when he’s happy about a gift purchase. There have been several instances where he’s given me the gift early because he just couldn’t stand it anymore. I make it worse by being very nonchalant about the whole thing. Yes, I am that evil.

But his gift was awesome. Ballroom dancing lessons for us. We’re not dancing with the has-been stars fans but this is something we can do together. I can’t wait! We have our first lesson the first week in March.

Sunday I finally finished some of the scrapbooking I started on Saturday. I didn’t get everything done but I’m 9/10 of the way there. I’ll post pictures of the pages just for Mrs. JT when I’m all done. They’re not the most exciting pages I’ve ever done but they’re finished and that’s the most important part.

We also went to the outlet mall on Sunday where I finally spent my BR gift certificate I got for Christmas. I know, I can’t believe I waited that long either. I got a gorgeous dress and several tops. The whole store was 40% off which puts a smile on my face. I’m totally in love with the spring stuff I’m seeing. Navy, yellow, green – all very traditional looking too. Ah, classy, conservative styles I can wear to work. Heaven.

So that was our weekend! How was your weekend with your honey?

  2. Robin, I am jealous. I'm totally bullying my future husband into that one someday. You know, AFTER he's my husband. And congrats, Mrs. Jones!
