Yep, still listening to Christmas music…
I actually went to Super Target today during lunch to buy more Christmas music. And more knobs for the kitchen. And some Zebra cakes. But that’s it, I swear. Anyway, I realized two things during that trip:
1. I spend a ridiculous amount of time in Target. Seriously, I could have my mail forwarded there and the cashiers would have no problem finding me.
2. Music really is a true joy. I had a hard time deciding which Christmas CD to purchase!
Side note: The husband is still not happy with my Christmas music listening. Chris is fully convinced retail is trying to completely eradicate all memories of the Pilgrims and Native Americans by putting out Christmas decorations immediately following Halloween. Direct quote, “Are we just supposed to skip over the Indians entirely?”
Last Christmas, I created scrapbooks as gifts. They were the stories of the women on my mom’s side of the family. I got the idea when we were looking through my grandmother’s pictures during Christmas several years ago. On our way home, Chris and I were talking (okay, I was talking) about additional family history projects I could do and I started thinking about how music has been a huge part of our lives. I’m not kidding when I say my brother and I were tortured with “oldies” as children. Dad loved his music. And so we loved ours and eventually, we came to appreciate his. Anyway, while we were driving (cause there’s 10 hours of car time to kill between our house and Birmingham) I started writing down questions I could ask the family. It took me a while to come up with questions that I thought we’d all have a connection to instead of just ones I would like to answer.
We all have stories we’d like to tell but really no one cares. Oh sure, you’d like to think someone cares but no, not really.
Anyway, I’ve been going back through all the answers and trying to get my plan together on this family history project. I had just as much fun reading them this time through as I did 6 months ago. So I thought I’d share the questions with ya’ll.
And no, I’m not sharing my answers. Why? Because no one really cares.
1. What was the first album you owned?
2. What was your first favorite song?
3. What’s your current favorite song?
4. Who did you see at your first concert?
5. What song makes you want to dance…every time?
6. Which song do you sing along with the loudest?
7. What song makes you cry?
8. Is there a song that best describes you?
9. What’s the best rainy day song?
10. What is the first song you remember from a movie?
11. Favorite music video or what was the first music video you remember?
12. What is your favorite make-out song or your first make-out song?
13. Favorite Beatles song?
14. Favorite musical experience? (Concert, show, memory about a song)
15. Which song do you love for the story it tells?
16. Which song takes you back to a specific time in your life?
I would encourage you to share some of your answers in the comments but we both know you’re gonna email me instead. I really would like to hear your answers. Really. No lie.
