The weather outside is frightful…

Why? Because it’s almost the middle of November, 68, sunny and downright Spring like. Seriously. I’m going insane. That kind of weather is great. In May. In November, I’d prefer 40’s, please. But oh no, not in Texas. Nope, here we’re in a perpetual state of hot, hotter or hottest. Nothing else.

I have some very lonely turtle necks, a few wool skirts and 2 fabulous pairs of knee high boots that may never see the light of day if this darn pleasantness keeps up.

However, hope springs eternal. I went to Marshall’s during lunch today. Why? Because I couldn’t bring myself to go to Target for the 3rd day in a row. Although I do need non-stick foil and I’m running dangerously low on Zebra cakes.

I know. That line from Steel Magnolia is streaming through your mind right now.

“When it comes to sufferin’, she is right up there with Elizabeth Taylor.”

Anyway, I bought an amazing sweater. Its floppedy, fuzzy and oh so cuddly. It called to me and honestly, it had me at hello so there was nothing I could do but take it home.

It will be making its first appearance tomorrow because despite the special brownies, Chris’ high school football team did make play offs.

Are you kidding me with this? It’s the season that won’t end. Auburn can do nothing right, UAT is the number one team and our Cougars make post-season play with a miserable 4-6 record. Football purgatory. Not hell because, well, my Sooners still rock. Boomer!

So hopefully, it will be pretty chilly tomorrow night and I will be the best dressed wife of a band director there.

I very likely will be the only band director’s wife there but hey, I’ll take my victories where I can.
