Gratitude Friday…
Yes, I’m aware it’s actually Thursday. But, since tomorrow is Dad’s birthday, I thought I would save my Friday post just for him.
This has been a hard week, and thus, for the most part, my absence from posting. I wrote in an email this week that if you combine our frustration with not having found a church and therefore not having a social life or local support system with our very empty “family” home, we may literally be experiencing an as of yet unnamed level of Dante’s hell.
But maybe I was being a bit over dramatic. Maybe.
Beth Moore says you should cry out to the Lord and not just to yourself but cry out loud to Him. So that’s exactly what I did. Some wonderful people I've met recently have had a pretty rough week as well. Praying for them helped take the focus off of my desires and back on His will. We are all seeking His will for our lives so through every prayer, He kept reminding me of one of my favorite verses.
“’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” Jeremiah 29:11
Such a simple verse. A promise every high school graduate hears in their baccalaureate service. But for me, the future's not some far way place. It's tomorrow. It's this afternoon. It's an hour from now. Because that's how quickly He can change your life. I have been repeating that verse to myself every day this week. Let’s face it, I am a professed worrier and a tad bit impatient. Thankfully, I’m not in charge but that doesn’t mean I don’t try to be. Today I may be sad but there’s a future out there the Lord already had planned for us before He even created the sun, moon or stars. It’ll be worth the wait. Regardless of how long that wait will be.

Our posts are twins today - I'm thinking God wants both of us to read Jeremiah 29:11!! What do you think! I hope your week gets better and you have a restful relaxing weekend.
