Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Fanny Pack

Friday night, we went to dinner with our dear friends Fanny and Mr. Pack. This was, of course, after I spent a couple of hours just talking with Fanny (and playing a game with Pack 1 but that’s another story for another day) and Chris spent all afternoon with Mr. Pack on the golf course.

We like them. A lot.

So we opted to eat at Red Rock up on the lake. I love it there. The food, for me, is okay. The atmosphere is what I love. Really, I don’t even mind the hour wait because the sun set over the lake is beautiful and there’s a deck where a guy and his guitar perform. It’s kind of expensive so everyone gets dressed up in their sheik-est attire. Not sure if that’s for the benefit of their date or for everyone else’s but regardless, it gave us all plenty of people watching material to work with. Last year we went on Prom Night. That was a site to behold.

After dinner, we went for some ice cream. Pack 1 and Pack 2 were nice and snuggled up at home with the babysitter and you hate to waste those precious moments. Besides, not one of us has a problem saying yes to Double Chocolate Chocolate with Reece’s Peanut Butter Cups mixed in.

We did finally go home because well, there’s NCAA Football to play and Wii golf to dance to. Seriously. Those two guys are hilarious when they dance.

Youtube is calling. It’s just that funny. Fanny and I feel certain they would be an instant hit.

I am happy to report that we left the Pack’s around 1:00 am and I was so excited, and hyped up on Diet Coke, that I watched TV until 2:30 am successfully throwing my entire sleep schedule off kilter.

It was worth it.

  1. Glad you were able to hang out with good friends! I understand your missing that time with friends more often. I feel certain I'll find some in Mobile before I leave! :-)
