Gratitude Friday

Happy Friday! It’s been a wonderful week and the time really flew. My husband’s family is visiting this weekend so we are busy, busy, busy. We love having guests at our house. Its always nice to spend time with family. Here we go!

1. Blueberry Muffins – In all honesty, I love all flavors of muffins. However, I don’t like store-bought muffins. There’s something heavy about those. My guess is its all the ingredients I can’t pronounce. I like muffins that are more like warm, little, heavenly cupcakes. With blueberries.

2. Trouser Jeans – You know how after you wash and dry a pair of jeans, you have to do the stretch-those-darn-things-out dance. You bend and twist trying to make sure you don’t spend all evening pulling them up every time you get up from the table. The solution is relatively simple…trouser jeans. Seriously, it’s an obsession.

3. Clorox Wipes – We’ve all gotten the mass emails asking you to fill out a list of questions and send them back. I love those. Anyway, there’s generally a question about your favorite scent. I always say “bleach” because I like things to be clean. So these wonderful, convenient little wipes pack all the punch of bleach in a wipe you pull from a plastic container and then toss in the trash when you’re done. Fantastic.

4. Marriage – Not just mine, I’ll save that for another post, but marriage as a gift from God. We need relationships with each other. We need friendship and companionship and love. Marriage gives us the opportunity to develop a bond like no other in this world. And, for the most part, we always have a date. Just maybe not as much time for them as we would prefer.

5. Trees – The one thing I miss the most about living in the south, apart from not living near family, is the trees. Growing up in the rolling hills on Alabama, we were surrounded by the most wonderful, full, green trees. You can hardly see what’s at the next exit on the interstate. The mid-west, south-west or whatever this part of the world is called is for the most part minus trees. It makes me all the more grateful for this beautiful part of God’s creation.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone! I love you all and miss you each and every day. There’ll be pictures of this weekend with the Evans’ next week.
