Seriously, that's the topic of discussion?

My morning 5:00 am commute is generally uneventful. If you live in a major metropolitan area and traffic is a concern, I highly recommend the 5:00 am time frame. Little or no stress involved in dodging 10 cars over a 20 mile drive. While driving, I generally listen to the various radio stations to get weather, news and of course, whatever craziness Brittany/Lindsay/Paris caused while I peacefully slept. This morning one of the shows was discussing an interesting question:

Should parents pay for the college education of a woman who says she wants to be a stay at home mother?

I’m not exactly sure what sparked this debate but there is was. A discussion that I thought ended, oh, 30 years ago at least.

A few questions pop up for me so let's review shall we?

What happens if the husband is unable to work? Would a college education not be a benefit then?

What happens if the couple is not able to have children? Or if they need to under go costly fertility treatments?

What if she wants the education so she can be a better teacher to her young children?

What if she wants to work prior to having children?

Goodness, for that matter, what if she just wants an education for the sake of having an education?

Come on folks. Let’s discuss topics relevant to the issues facing the modern mother oh, like, what really did happen to Brittany and the paparazzi last night. That’s a far more worth while discussion.
