Roasting Pumpkins in the Pumpkin Patch...

Annual Pumpkin Patch visit today!

We have THE BEST pumpkin patch in our city.  Bounce houses, hay rides, playground, hay maze, shaved ice and OH SO MANY characters to meet and photograph.  The characters are Aubrey Kate's favorite part.  She talks every year about who she wants to take her picture with when we go.

So today we went.

Unfortunately, we had to bring Rhys too.

It's a shame over-tired toddlers can't just be locked in a room by themselves instead of inflicting their JOY onto the rest of the world.

Oh, calm down.  I'd lock him in a room with his milk cup and a blanket.  And Froggy.  He'd be fine.

Eventually.

Nana worked hard yesterday to keep him awake while we drove home from the Zoo.  Had we known he wouldn't take a nap, we'd have totally let him sleep.

Cause he's just SUPER FUN today.  As evidenced by the picture.  Believe me, the other shots of us include him kicking and screaming.  It's a miracle I held him in my lap.

Aubrey Kate, on the other hand, really was blissful.  She had a great time!  She had so much fun, she let us take her picture.  Even asked for pictures!  She shared her shaved ice with Rhys.  Bounced in the big kids' bounce house.  And let me take her picture in front of the ruler.  She's so delightful.

Today was h.o.t.  Every year, it's hot.  It's October but it's always 984 degrees on Pumpkin Patch day.  So you can see our flushed faces.  And since Rhys was overtired, I carried him around ALL THE LIVE LONG DAY.

Holding thirty pounds of toddler...hot toddler...in the blazing Texas sun is just so refreshing and cool.

Can I get an AMEN that he's currently sacked out at nap time?  Home Skillet needed a nap.

Nana's also sacked out.  Nana's need naps too.

Thanks, Pumpkin Patch!  We'll see you next year!
