Kinda Like Flat Stanley, Only Not...

We had a house guest this weekend.

Ted E. Bear.

He spends all week in the classroom with the students but on the weekends, he gets lonely.  So he goes home with one student's family instead.  This weekend was ours.

The level of excitement about this fact is difficult to describe.

EPIC.

Uncontainable.

I think she bounced up and down and screamed with joy all afternoon Friday.

Despite my best efforts, my excitement level could not match hers.

Along with Ted, he arrived with a bag of clothes and a journal for us to write down all of his amazing adventures over the weekend.  Which, of course, means lots of pictures had to be taken.

So let's get started, shall we?

This is our first picture.  In the car on our way home for an amazing adventure!

(Have I mentioned "amazing adventure" before?)

Aubrey Kate was over the moon!  She was simply beside herself to have a new friend to spend the weekend with!

After we returned home, as she'd planned during the ride, Aubrey Kate set about getting the most perfect tea party ready.  Her doll, Jane and Sister Bear promptly accepted the invitation.  Aubrey Kate carefully prepared the treats and, obviously, the tea.  It was quite the soiree.  I believe Ted E. was very pleased with his afternoon tea.

After tea, it was movie time!  Although, I believe the littles selected, "Sid, the Science Kid."  That's the latest favorite.  AK made sure Ted E. was nice and comfortable in her lap.

That night, Aubrey Kate created a tent for Ted E. to spend the night.  She felt he needed his own space.  After all, he sleeps by himself at night in the classroom.  However, AK informed me Saturday morning that Ted E. did eventually join her in her bed.  She didn't want him to be scared.  He was in a new place and everything.  Sweet girl.

Saturday was a big day!  Daddy had already planned to take the littles to a Mary Poppins tea at another local high school.  The theatre there is doing Mary Poppins as their spring musical.  As a fundraiser, they did a little performance for the kiddos.  There were cookies and pink lemonade.  The kids can meet the characters and get their autographs.  And, of course, every one's encouraged to wear their favorite Disney character costume.

Rhys owns zero of those.  He opted to be Spider man.  Sort of.

Aubrey Kate was Aurora.

Ted E. didn't have a Disney costume either BUT he did have this super cute cow print vest.  Aubrey Kate thought it was just perfect.

Therefore it was.

You'll notice a significant drop in photos.  The shine of photo opportunities began to dim after the first 24 hours.  Not playing with Ted E.  No, that continued to bring much joy.  He stayed with Aubrey Kate throughout every moment of the day.

Except the game of freeze tag with Daddy.  That was only for little people with legs.  So much giggling!

Sunday Ted E. joined us at church.  Aubrey Kate introduced him to her friend, Lily.  He had a great time singing and making a heart craft.  He also tagged along for small group.  The kids ran and played with stickers and watched "Home."  Ted E. seemed to thoroughly enjoy every minute.

Truly, Aubrey Kate was so sad to see Ted E. leave.  She did not want to take him back.  Although, she was excited about telling her class all about their amazing adventures.

Thanks for visiting, Ted E. Bear.
