We Put the "L" in "Lazy" Last Week...

For clarification sake, by "last week," I mean the last four days.

Because the first part of the week, Chris worked on the house like crazy and the kids and I spent some much needed time with family in Alabama.

But once we were all reunited...LAZY.

Chris had the house completely clean and the laundry all done so I didn't have chores to do.  Other than grocery shopping which, for me, isn't a chore but a mini-vacation.

Unless I have to take a kid or two.  Then it's not so much of a chore as it is gorilla warfare.  Me against them.

Thursday, we had a play date with our precious Arlington friends.  We were pregnant with all these kids together.  Seems crazy.  But there they are.  All six of them.  Four boys and two girls.  Aubrey Kate and Annabelle had a good time being girls together.  Rhys played in his own little world.  What with a whole house full of new toys, he was blissful.  This was the single moment of stillness for a dessert of birthday cake rice krispie treats and Barney.

The play date gave Chris time to work on one of the shelves for the living room and build the flower boxes for the fence outside.

He rocks.

Rhys fell asleep on the way home so I got to sit in the car with him while AK and Daddy rode bikes.  Then we hit our park before dinner.

And that, folks, was the extent of our productivity.

Rhys came home from Alabama with a horrible cough.  The same cough his sister had while we where IN Alabama.  So I got to listen to kids cough at all hours for more nights than not.  Chris slept in late Friday morning and then I crawled back in bed for a nap once he got up.

And that patten was repeated on Saturday and Sunday.

Rhys got a fever with his cough thus FORCING us to stay out of the public.  Not that Lazy was interested in letting us out.  But you know what I mean.

At this point, we have missed more church than attended in 2015.

Good thing God isn't keeping score.  Or giving out points.

I love grace.

Truthfully, we were all looking forward to getting back into a routine this week.  And kick Lazy to the curb.  Not that we didn't enjoy having him.  I haven't napped that much in five years.

Be on the look out for posts on the trip home and all the projects Chris did.  After we hit the park today!
