Weigh-in Wednesday: New Playlist...

Alright, so asthma is not taking exercise from me.  It's just not.  I love to break a good sweat listening to some awesome music.

I also love eating whatever I want.

Have to exercise, seriously exercise, for that to happen.

I am watching my diet because I still have six pounds to go.  After that though, it's maintenance.

And that, friends, is awesomeness.

My SIL, Carrie, has been working so hard to lose some weight.  I am beyond proud of her.  Super dedicated.  I adore watching and praying for people as they get healthy.  And, admittedly, I am horribly partial to those who do it with exercise and diet.  That takes serious commitment.  Especially doing an hour plus a day of exercise!

She asked for clean running songs a couple of weeks ago.  I needed some new ones too.  Clean is hard to find.  Unless it's annoying.  Like last summer's "Call Me Maybe."

So.  Annoying.

Over the past week or so, I've been searching for songs and writing them down on various random pieces of paper.  You know, like when you hear one in the car and you write it on the back of your McDonald's receipt (for DDP, y'all) and then you put that tiny piece of paper where you'll be sure to both find it and not throw it away but then you can't find it.

Those.

Last night, I gathered all those notes together and used my Mother's Day iTunes gift card (from Aubrey Kate, of course) to put together a new running list.

Used it this morning.  Did 1.5 miles.  Not all straight but I did it.  My legs felt like jelly but my lungs were good.  I moved to the elliptical after that where I could keep working my way through, "Undaunted" by Christine Caine.

Unbelievably good.  Read it.

The study that goes with it is also fabulous.  Really thoughtful questions.  Hard heart work.  And I love it.

Anyway, I present, for those who run and those who just like fun music, A New Playlist:

1.  Save Your Life - Newsboys

2.  Washed Over Me - All Things New

3.  Jesus is Life - Steven Curtis Chapman

4.  Move - MercyMe

5.  God's Great Dance Floor - Chris Tomlin

6.  All I Can Do - MIKESCHAIR

7.  Always Been About You - Fellowship Creative

8.  God's Not Dead - Newsboys

9.  Slumber - Needtobreathe

10.  Every Good Thing - The Afters

11.  Let It Be Known - Worship Central

12.  Dive - Steven Curtis Chapman

There you have it.  Yes, it's all Christian Contemporary.  I can't seem to even consider anything else.  I get that, "Little ears are listening..." feeling in my gut.

That Holy Spirit just gets all up in my business.

The Beatles are the exception.  But that's just good parenting making sure their musical repertoire includes such genius as, "We all live in a yellow submarine."

Because I still adore Justin Timberlake and the fact I have not purchased a single song from his new stuff is absolute proof miracles happen.

One day, JT, I'll be back.  Littles are only little for so long.

  1. Your playlist sounds awesome!! And I love that you're always thinking of your babies with the things that you do in life - super admirable, my friend.
