Gratitude Friday...

Hi there, Friday.  Glad to see you.  It's been a long week.

Honestly, I'm not feeling real swell this week.  Just feeling a little overwhelmed and rundown.  Letting things hurt me when really, I likely caused it to start with.  You know.  Just a funk.

But when things come, and we all know they do and will, the best place to start is with some gratitude.

Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your blessings
See what God has done.

Here we go!  We'll start with silly first.

1. Since Nana gave Aubrey Kate this set of blocks about two years ago, I have been trying to put them together so they are even from all sides.  No random blocks sticking out.  Well, this week, I finally did it.  Really, I don't know why I didn't become an architect.  Clearly, if it only took me two years, I have mad skills.  The task is now done and I can move on.

2.  This precious smile!  Goodness, she melts my heart when she smiles like this.  We've had our fair share of three year old issues this week, but heavens I love her more every day.

3.  Then there's this guy.  He's successfully beaten the nasty virus and his cheeks are back to their fabulously kissable state.  I adore watching him play.  Really.  Whew, my love.

4.  Text message - No picture for this one.  Just got a sweet text message from a friend today.  Feeling fairly lonely lately so the timing couldn't have been better.  I love how God does that.

5.  Family time - We decided to spend one day a week this summer doing something fun as a family.  We aren't taking a vacation of any kind so these little trips are it.  Which is completely fine because the kids are young and easily impressed.  Today we went to a neighboring city's splash pad and park.  The kids had a great time and bonus, it wore them out.

He's giving me a nasty look but don't let him fool you, he loves the water.
Aubrey Kate, not so much.  She liked the park better.
She saved Diego from a fire.  I swear.  I saw it.

My men!
She eventually decided to run around in the water.
And results of the morning!
When I count them out, life is certainly beyond blessed.  Goodness, really, I should pray for an equally blessed week next week.  Life's good.  Even when it doesn't quite feel that way.
