The Third Birthday Sort-of Party...

I love how excited my little girl gets by the smallest things.  A box of Peeps tucked in the grocery bag.  A balloon from the Dollar Store.  A bag of cookies from Daddy's work.  This girl adores a surprise.

One day, she will be nearly impossible to surprise.  And even less likely to impress.

One day.

Sooner than I would like, I realize.

For now, I am cherishing the moments when she opens her mouth as wide as it will go, sucks in one quick breath and I get to smile ear to ear at the miracle of the moment.

Aubrey Kate celebrated her third birthday in style.  At a tailgate in Auburn.

Y'all, life doesn't get much better than that.

She had been asking for strawberry cupcakes for months.  Actually, she'd been asking when her birthday would be here for those same months.

Since Christmas to be specific.

I experimented and came up with a delicious strawberry cupcake.  Sooooo good.  I think I ate a dozen on my own.

(Still hoping simply thinking about losing the last of the baby weight will work without actually giving up yummy stuff like strawberry cupcakes.  Hope springs eternal.)

We opened the cupcakes, sang "Happy Birthday," and pretended she blew out the three candles instead of the wind.

It was perfect "party" for a precious little three year old miracle.
