Gratitude Friday...

Y'all are too sweet!  I could not be more thrilled to know precious friends are watching my kiddos!  Such a small thing, to watch a video, but it makes my heart happy.  I adore y'all!

So when you post about being all well, it seems that is the moment when you become...not.

I have a virus.  Maybe the flu.  Maybe not.

If you're keeping track, I got the flu in December and then six weeks later, got it again.  I failed the flu test in January but the doctor said I was likely getting tested too early for it to be positive.  No messing around when I feel it coming on.

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's the flu.  At least that's what the doctor said.

This time, I also failed the flu test.  Seeing this was my third bout, he gave me a blood test.  Which showed I definitely have a virus.

And I'm anemic.

I totally rolled my eyes at the doctor when he told me I was anemic.

"So you're not surprised about the anemia?"

"Um, no.  I have Celiac's disease."

"Ah, then, no you're not surprised."

Right.

Regardless of what the test says, I feel the same as the positive flu in December.

I woke up in the middle of the night on Thursday and my whole body ached.  Look, when even your ankles are aching, it's a fever and it's the flu.

The next morning I texted Chris, "Sick.  Like flu sick."

"R u serious?"

See, the absolutely best part about getting sick this time is it's Spring Break.  And Chris left Thursday night for seven days of "education" at Disney with the band.  They're playing somewhere for some competition.  Or something.  I heard bits and pieces.

I had done the math after the last non-flu flu and knew six weeks was, well, now.

Awesome.

But Mom saved the day.  She flew in this morning.  Before the sun rose.  I bet she got to watch the sun rise from inside the plane.

Rock star mom.

I'm hoping I feel better soon so I can enjoy having her here!  So far, I still feel like I've been hit by a bus and that someones stabbing my lungs with an ice pick when I breathe.

Pray with me, please, that Mom, Aubrey Kate and Rhys won't catch this stuff.  And perhaps, if you would, pray I don't get this again.  I'm not sure Chris can handle it.  He might explode with frustration.

Have a great weekend!
