Gratitude Friday...

Y'all, people are coming to my house tonight.  People who have never been here.  My mind cannot even take in the enormous amount of things still left to be done.
And a teething baby who refuses to be put down is not helping.  At.  All.

So this is gonna be brief.

This week, I am grateful for...

One, the dollar clearance rack at Wal-mart where I purchased five pairs of size 18 - 24 month sweat pants, an adorable pair of hot pink corduroy 4T pants, 3T denim shorts, two 3T plain short sleeved tee-shirts and two pair of 3T pajamas.

Score.

For real, PJ's are a complete racket.  Even the consignment shop charges $7 sometimes.  Geez.

Two, all of Pumpkin's summer clothes from last year STILL FIT.  We played dress up before bed (because that was the only time I could convince her to play with me and let's face it, she'll do anything to delay bedtime) and JOY, it all fits.  The shorts are a little shorter but who cares.  She's almost three.

Yes, that will totally matter in ten years.

But not right now.

Right now, at almost three, all I could think was WHOO-HOO!!!!  Look at all the money I DON'T have to spend!!!

Y'all, if you don't believe God provides and does so in super fun and unexpected ways, then you are missing the boat.  Coupons in the mail?  Praise God!  Sale on something on your grocery list you weren't expecting?  Praise God!  Enough left over spaghetti sauce to freeze?  Praise God!

During a season of our life when every penny counts, it can be easy to get discouraged and defeated.  My prayer is, "Show me, God.  Don't let me miss a blessing.  A provision.  A gift."

Because I don't want to miss a single opportunity to say, "Thank you, Lord, for your provision!  You are awesome!"

Have a great weekend!

  1. You are SO right!! God gives us little blessings every single day...but most of the time we are too busy to see them and acknowlege them! Thank you for reminding us to ask God to open our eyes, ears, and hearts to see what He gives us daily...so that we can be more thankful!!

  2. God is good all the time, all the time God is good. He promises to meet our needs and He's never failed in doing so. But, sometimes He blesses us more than we can even imagine. Keep counting those blessing. By the way, I count you as one of the "more than I could imagine blessings. Love you. Meme

  4. Amen! God continues to provide and stretch our dollar in the craziest of ways!! Sometimes it is just a matter of opening our eyes to actually see that He is indeed providing.
