My mom's reaction to my self-imposed blog break was...
..."Poor Rhys."
I offer as evidence of his suffering the following photos:
If he suffers anymore, I might pass out from cuteness overload.
I mean, could you not just snuggle that little guy all day long?
Guess what? I get to do that.
Snuggle him. All. Day. Long.
The only break is during naps. And we have reached the point where I miss him during nap time. I remember that happening with Aubrey Kate too. They are so stinkin' fun at this age. He giggles and I melt. My heart aches when he's apart from me. As soon as he makes a single noise during nap, I get ready to get him up. And then he looks up at me and smiles and I fall in love with him even more.
Pretty sure I'm not the only momma to feel that.
Our schedule between months four and five stayed pretty much the same. He did eventually figure out how to sleep sans the swaddle and newborn lounger.
It was really rough figuring it out though. Not gonna lie.
The solution?
Sleeping on our belly.
Now, granted. It took him a few nights to figure out he could turn back over if he wanted. But he did get it all down so by the time we left for Alabama, he was getting up just once around 5:00 am.
As for eating, he's basically still eating the same amount. Six - seven ounces about every three hours during the day and another seven ounces during the night. We are still...STILL...trying to convince him to eat the rice cereal. We try every night but so far, not happenin'. Don't you just love the way he stiffens up to try and get out of the chair?
As for size, I have no idea how tall he is or his head circumference but he weighed about 17.5 lbs. That's almost three pounds in a month. Seems relatively impossible but I promise, we had him weighed just before we left thinking he might of had an ear infection.
Turns out, he was just fussy.
I know. Y'all are totally jealous of my mommy skillz.
As for play, he likes it. Anything. Playmat. Jumperoo. My lap. The boppy. Really, he's pretty happy. Once he starts to get unhappy, then it's time for a nap. Until then, he smiles, giggles and put everything in his mouth. I really enjoy our playtime together when sister is still napping. (Visa versa, I love my playtime with AK while brother is sleeping.) That's when I take most of the pictures of Homeboy.
Happy Five Months, Rhys! You are such a joy!!!
