Last, final, no I'm really serious this time, project done...

The Playroom.

Is done.

And by done, we mean that it's not painted, which is driving us crazy, but we ran out of both time and money to get this room and the hallway painted so it's as "done" as it's gonna be for probably the next year.

Again, stole borrowed a whole lot of ideas from Pinterest.  Like the Ikea spice racks used as book shelves.  We really could have used another four of these.  Pumpkin has a good many books in her room we read for naps and bedtime.  But that'll wait until after the room is painted.

Also the Artwork display.  So precious.  Aubrey Kate's spent two solid days pointing to it every time she would go in and out saying, "I made that!"  There were a lot of different "pin" for this idea but we went with the basic approach of two nails and some fishing wire.

It was also free.  Free = excellent.

Then the bunting on the curtains.  That has to be my favorite.  Made it from my fabric stash.  So simple and really makes the room feel handmade.  Which, no lie, I love in a playroom.

The one thing I don't like are the vinyl letters but honestly, I don't have the energy to take them down right now.  I want to put up "Read" but it can wait.

On to the pictures!

Artwork display, books, kitchen and Rhys' swing (which will likely be moved to the living room once he arrives...if he likes it).

Close up.  See.  The vinyl words just don't look good.  Too small, I think.

In case you needed another view.

This is the opposite side of the room.  At one point, all of Pumpkin's toys and books fit just in the cubbies.  The good ole days.  I hung her dress up hats on the wall too.  Frees up space in the cubbies and well, it's free decorations.

This is the top of the cubbies.

So I think Chris is sort of over my blinds-turned-into-artwork projects.  But I did three more for this room.  I have an abundance of cardboard letters thanks to the over-shopping of craft supplies.  Anyway, the Artwork sign I covered in fabric for a slightly different look.

This is the second sign.  We sing this to Aubrey Kate before every nap and bedtime.
She loves it.  Chris spray painted the letters for me.  He rocks.

And this is just one of our favorite songs.  These are paper letters and I swear, if I could ever find more, I'd buy 20 sheets.  I adore the colors and the patterns.  I added the ribbon to the holes where the strings for the blinds go.  Thought it was cute.

Here's the bunting over the curtains.  The curtains are, once again, Wal-mart sheets.  I already had these though.  They were left over from a baby shower I hosted  a while ago.  The blue is just so sweet.  The curtain rod is also a relict from years ago.  It was natural wood and Chris spray painted it with our favorite Rustoleum Oil Rubbed Bronze.  We've used it for all the door knobs too.  But that's another post for another day.

This is my desk and fabric storage area.  Another idea from Pinterest.  I used my grandmother's crates and a few baskets I no longer needed to stack and display all my fabric.  The cork board is Chris' from growing up and was in pretty rough shape.  Covered it in fabric.  Perfect.  I store my yarn and buttons in some of Grandmother Evans' mason jars.

Closer view of the baskets of fabric.  The one on the bottom is filled with mostly vintage pillow cases my sweet husband bought me for my birthday last year.

The other side of the desk.  The top crate is filled with paint.  Some of it is acrylic craft paint and some are left over paint samples.  I used one of the yellow samples to paint the "Sunshine" blinds.

Final view of the desk.  I'll be shocked if I ever actually sit down at the desk but it's a good storage spot.  The drawers are full of ribbon and blank onesies just waiting to be decorated.
