Easter Pictures! They do exist...

We had a great Easter celebration! Our friends Mrs. Eartha and Posty invited us over to their house for what I call their annual Immigrant Lunch.

Posty is the Director of Global Missions at our church (old church?) so they are involved with lots of different groups. He started a program to reach out to the international students at the local college. The church literally sits smack in the middle of campus. Every year, he invites the students over for Easter lunch along with a couple of other friends who don't have family in town.

We qualify.

And technically, if you're a native Texan, everyone else is an immigrant. Doesn't matter if you're from China or Alabama. You're all the same kind of foreign to Texans.

The only exception to that rule appears to be if you adopt the saying, "I wasn't born here but I got here as fast as I could." Then you are forgiven for the sin of being birthed in a lesser state. Considering our journey to Texas includes some time in Alabama, Georgia and Oklahoma, I don't think we can claim we got here as soon as possible.

Thus we will always be Immigrants.

Hopefully that means we will always be included in the Easter Immigrant Lunch!

We decided to go to our church in Arlington for Easter. Then we just hung out at Eartha's until everyone else came over late afternoon. Pumpkin and their little miracle, James, got to hang out at Sunday School which made AK the happiest girl ever. As son as we got in the car after church, she was asking for James.

James. House. Play.

Both kiddos were tuckered out from playing at church which meant they both took awesome naps. Eartha and I got to spend some great time together in the kitchen getting the meal ready. Chris and Posty discussed the world's problems in the living room while watching the Master's.

Posty's friends came over late afternoon for lunch. Such nice folks! Aubrey Kate was thrilled to have more playmates. One of the sweet guys kept her very entertained. Elmo helped too.

Because it was raining cats and dogs outside, we had an Easter Egg Hunt indoors. AK was not all that interested in hunting for eggs. Everyone else was doing that. How boring. She decided to fill her basket with the cookies from one of James' games.

Makes complete sense.

We had a fabulous time. All of us! Aubrey Kate pitched a fabulous fit on the way home because we had to leave James. Somehow telling the two year old that crying about it is not going to make us turn around doesn't so much cut it. Logic is lost of them.

Looking forward to next year's Immigrant Lunch already!

Thanks Mrs. Eartha and Posty! We love you guys!

  2. I was reading this and Ella was looking over my shoulder. She exclaimed "That girl has Elmo, I want to go play at her house!!" (She never even watches Elmo, so that made me laugh). I told her you lived a long ways away to which she informed me "well, we can fly in an airplane!"

    Cute pictures!
