20 minutes...

It would appear we, meaning E2 and me, are a little aware of time these days.

Giving myself 20 minutes and then I need to do some chores.

Having to work a little bit harder at slowing down with gratitude. There's more to do than I can possibly get done before he gets here (which is just 17 weeks btw) and I hate the thought of looking back over these last four months as a family of three and regretting spending it all focusing only on what has to be done instead of the cuteness happening right in front of me.

There is a fantastic reason I missed blogging my gratitude list Friday.

Nana was here.

And I should tell you (more importantly, her), Aubrey Kate woke up this morning and from her afternoon nap asking for Nana. I explained she had to go home to Puddin' in Alabama.

Cue excitement about Puddin'.

Then we discussed who else lived in Alabama. She's got it down. Meme. Buddy. Adam (Aum). Carrie (Caw). Noah (No-no). Miller (Mil). Meredith (Mer). Brantley (Bant). Heather (Hewer).

And GG. She adores GG. Sees her picture and calls out "GG" in her outside voice. I don't correct her for that one though.

So grateful for our precious family.

Grateful for the short amount of time we get to spend with them.

Grateful for the sunshine and how much Aubrey Kate loves to be outside playing.

Grateful for the way the light catches the little red in Aubrey Kate's precious strawberry blond hair.

Grateful our daughter gives her daddy a hug when he leaves for work and when he comes home.

Grateful for iced tea.

Grateful for race car grocery carts.

Grateful for cheeks to kiss.

Grateful for yawning baby boys on sonograms.

Slowing down life is hard. Taking the time to thank Christ for just a simple moment of the sun in my miracle daughter's hair helps. All gifts come from Him. Although He deserves our praise and gratitude not for what He gives us. He deserves it because He is God. He loved us enough to die. Everything else we get is just extra hugs and kisses.

  1. I miss her too! It was a great visit! She does love her Mama :) and it is wonderful. The most needful things will get done-or-not. Little man will still come-can't wait. See you soon. Love you,
    Mom
