A year's worth of planning and all I got was this pirate hat...

The Party is over.

Thank goodness.

The event was a fund raiser for a city focused non-profit. The event is the only fundraiser for the non-profit and has been since the organization began nineteen years ago.

I would say we were rather successful. We raised over $100K more than any other Party in it's history. The Party was sold-out (over sold for the love...) for the first time in it's history as well. And for the first time, all of our over 100 volunteers actually showed up to work.

When all was said and done, I believe we had over 1,400 folks there. Largely, I base that on the fact that we printed 1,500 treasure hunt maps and gave them all out an hour into registration.

Awesome.

Entertainment was a rather large band, a casino, Wii video Pirate games, professional actors and a skit that made the Mayor walk the plank, a steel drum band, nine bars and a silent auction I almost died from exhaustion creating.

The food was amazing, despite it being a buffet (which I have distaste for but was out-voted). There were even gluten-free corn muffins. Just too bad the caterers combined those in the same bins with the non-gluten free sweet potato muffins.

Cross-contamination is a hard concept to grasp.

Now all that's left is a post-mortem event meeting and some photos.

And ankles that feel like I've been ice skating for three days straight.
