Yeah, I got it.
There were two illnesses in Aubrey Kate's day care her last week. RSV and the flu. She got one and I got the other.
By yesteday morning I was done. Not sure if it was the thought of Chris leaving or if I geniunely felt worse but regardless, I checked-in at the doc in a box, drove through the snowy, iced roads and got myself a shot.
Chris says when he got a steroid shot, he could feel his sinuses open up before the nurse left the room. Mine took a couple of hours to relieve the pressure. But seeing as that I was seriously considering driving one of those PIO needles into my face to suck the mucus directly out, a couple hours of wait time wasn't that bad.
And can I just say that I will forever be grateful for said PIO shots? Nothing is worse than those. Really, the steroid shot burned a little but it still didn't hold a candle to the PIO.
The rest of the day I spent napping and laying in the bed. I actually slept last night for the first time in a week. Bliss.
Can't wait to fully be rid of this nastiness. Doctor Junior in High School asked if I'd ever had the flu and for the life of me, I don't remember. Maybe. When I was a kid? But not in recent memory for sure. She seemed surprised by that.
I in turn was surprised that she could still hold her hand up considering the weight of the gigantic diamond ring on her finger.
I may be feverish, congested and hacking up a lung but I'm not too sick to miss a diamond. Not that large.
I know. There's an idol in there somewhere. I'm working on finding it. But somehow I don't think just liking sparkly things is the idol and going deeper than that will require a mucus free head.
So today I'm attempting to do the rest of the laundry, spray every surface with Lysol and still try and work in as much rest as possible. Won't be easy what with being Pumpkin's favorite junggle gym but I'm gonna give it my best.
What have ya'll been up to?

The flu!! My Stars! I wish I was there. Take care of yourself. Rest when you can. Cleaning can wait.
ReplyDeleteMom :(
Sorry to hear you have the flu. It's just as well you weren't traveling to AL this week, plus you still have AK to take care of and she doesn't know Mommy has the flu. The snow last night and today here was my kind of snow: all in the yard and none on the roads.
ReplyDeleteGet well, give AK and Chris a big hug for us. Hope to see y'all soon. Buddy.
