They say a picture is worth a thousand words so here you go.
Have you ever seen a duck looking more forlorn? I mean, his feathers are practically drooping.
I stood there for several minutes having this conversation with Chris:
Me: I wonder if he would take a picture with me.
Chris: I don’t think he’s in the appropriate state of mind for that.
Me: Do you think he would get angry if I asked?
Chris: We just beat them. Let’s not ruffle his feathers.
Me: Come on. Surely he has a sense of humor.
Chris: I don’t know. I mean Howard The Duck was funny but I don’t think we can use him as the standard by which all ducks should be compared.
Me: Okay, I’m asking him.
Ta-da!
His hand is blurry but I swear he’s holding up two fingers for #2. Pinky promise. After we took the picture, the duck commented on my engagement ring saying it was really nice and he hoped I had walked down the aisle wearing it. I said no, it was a 5th anniversary upgrade.
Duck is apparently in love and looking to purchase a diamond himself. There is no other reason a duck (or man) would be checking out women’s engagement rings.
Not sure why, but this made me rather sad. I bet he would have really liked to have won a national championship the same year he proposes to the love of his life.
But it was not to be.
Instead, we won a national championship in the same year as the love of our life joined the family. Precious Aubrey Kate. Our little good luck charm. She’s undefeated you know. What a way to start your journey as part of the Auburn Family!
