Look what was under the Christmas Tree this year.
A present.
To our daughter.
Our daughter.
We have a daughter.
This year, we did all the usual Christmas celebrations. We went to the Christmas Eve service at the church I grew up in. I hugged the necks of former Sunday School teachers, dear friends of my parents and our precious family. We ate turkey and dressing, opened presents together, cleaned up bags of discarded wrapping paper and ended the night with our annual birthday party for Jesus complete with trick candles (Jesus has a sense of humor, in case you didn't know).
But it was all absolutely and amazingly different.
Because Aubrey Kate is in our lives.
And then to make it that much better, we had a White Christmas.
In Alabama.
Ya'll.
I've been dreaming of a Christmas with a child of our own for years. And without a doubt, this one has been everything I could have ever dreamed of and so much more.
I need to copy and paste this post because I feel the exact same way!! Such an amazing gift we have been blessed with. So glad you enjoyed your first Christmas as a family of three!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this post!! And wasn't the snow just such a wonderful extra present sent from God? I'm from Atlanta so it was a nice treat for us as well!
