This past Sunday I hosted my first ever baby shower. We have a zillion babies in our Sunday school class and I've offered to host every one of the showers since we joined but this one was really special. I felt priviledged to be a part of it.
Every baby is a joy. Each family is a miracle of God. But this sweet friend and I sat in my OB's office a year ago and cried together. She was having miscarriage number two. I remember being so overwhelmed that there I sat finally pregnant holding the hand of this amazing woman who had suffered a loss I could not even fathom.
Praise the Lord, this pregnancy has gone well and they are joyfully looking forward to being the parents of a little baby boy. They leave soon to begin their journey as missionaries and we will miss them and this precious miracle greatly. They go with our love and prayers following.
With all that swimming in my heart, I wanted to really make this special for her. Her colors are chocolate brown and blue (yum!). The invitation had these sweet blue flowers on it so I took that and made a table cloth. I wrapped all my white candles in blue and brown scrapbook paper and tied them with blue and brown ribbon. I did manage to find a banner that matched but believe me, I was totally prepared to make one!
Baby was showered with lots of clothes for his trip to his new home. I gave her a giraffe onesie and an elephant onesie I'd recently made. They were cute but hello the sweater outfits! I can't compete with that kind of cuteness. Little man will be such a well dressed guy.
Not bad for my first ever baby shower. Now to figure out how to have a blue and brown Christmas so I can leave all this cuteness up...
Robin it looks beautiful!! You are so talented, and God will bless your efforts and love for this precious family!
