Well. Apart from work, this has been a great week. There has been a situation at the office hanging over me for weeks. It has ended now. So I guess, in a way, I am grateful this situation has been resolved. Although, it was rough for all involved.
But there’s some other stuff I’m grateful for too. And these are a lot more fun.
1. iPod – Finally got the thing loaded with all my workout songs this week. I have too much music on iTunes so I have to be selective about which playlists are on there. Boo boo hiss hiss. Anyway, it’s loaded and I am loving listening to my old school favs. There’s vintage Janet, some DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, of course there’s Michael and even some Spice Girls and Hanson (yes, I own my geekiness). It’s like I can feel the 1996 creeping back on me when Montell Jordan and I are singing about his promotion from lower case G to Big G.

2. Birthdays without singing Happy Birthday – so Fanny turned old this week. She hates having “Happy Birthday” sung whether to her or not. It’s hard to wish someone a happy birthday without it sounding all sing-songy. Go head and try it. I mean it just sort of flows off the tongue, right? Hate I’m missing celebrating with her. She deserves to be celebrated. Heck, I still miss spending every weekend night with her at her place. Something so comforting about being with a friend who gets you. I don’t have to be anyone else but myself. Visa versa is true too. Even if that includes opening doors with her elbow. I get it. I can deal. And I love her.
3. SEC Media days – Hello College Football. I’ve missed you. Wait. That’s not really true. I feel like we never parted this off season what with all the USC/Reggie Bush sanctions and the org chart shake up drama in the conferences. I mean it’s like you’ve been here all along. Just minus the band and fight songs. Oh how I’ve missed your fight songs. What joys do you have in store for us this season? And can we please, pretty please, with a cherry on top debate endlessly about a playoff system? Please?
4. Miracles – okay, so I know. Ya’ll are tired of hearing about miracles. But really. They are every where. Like Skittles falling from the sky. A.E. got a pretty big miracle this week. I think it’s a miracle to find such amazing friends through the blogosphere. It’s a miracle when someone tears you down and a gazillion people come out of nowhere to build you back up. It’s a miracle when all the bills are paid, the tithe sent in and there’s still money despite going weeks without pay to stay at home with a baby. He’s just waiting to show you His love for you!
Have a great weekend ya’ll! If you need us, we’ll be shopping for a new rug and maybe seeing a movie while Meme and Buddy watch Pumpkin. We love grandparents!

ReplyDeleteLove it! There are so many things to be grateful for! I need to put workout songs on my Ipod...but seriously, who am I kidding...I don't workout! I need to...hello baby belly still attached! Ha
ReplyDeleteI am so ready for Fall...that way we can go for long walks in our neighborhood...that is my exercise! Definitely not walking in 100 degree Arkansas weather!!!
I miss you too! The party wasn't the same without you! And they sang. Ugh. But I got presents. Can't wait til December!
