What a wonderful weekend. Lots of family. Lots of friends. Lots of pink. And punch served in baby bottles.
I'm so stealing that for the next baby shower I host.
The shower ended up being such an amazing surprise. Mrs. JT, her mom and a long-time family friend were the hostesses. They knew I didn't really want to open presents while everyone watched. Not a big fan of being the center of attention. Honestly. No really.
Anyway, the idea they came up with was a scrapbook party. They took a picture of me with each guest and then a picture of the gift they gave me. As I unwrapped gifts, the ladies were creating scrapbook pages of our picture and the picture of the gift. The invitation had told them about the secret so some of the ladies brought pictures or even brought pages already done.
That wins "Most Awesome Shower Idea Ever". Mrs. JT is putting the scrapbook together for me. I haven't seen one page yet so I can't wait to see it! They'll be pictures of the shower on a CD with the scrapbook. So we'll have to wait until then to see pictures.
But let me tell you, how Mrs. JT and her mother have managed not to be in Southern Living as the ideal hostesses, I have no idea.
You hear that Southern Living. Just give me a call when you're ready to do a fabulous layout on them. I can hook you up.
We spent Saturday night with extended family at a get together at my parents house. We had such a nice time visiting. And yes, Beatles Rock Band was played. With enthusiasm.
Yesterday, Chris and I packed as much of the shower gifts as we could in our suitcases. When I looked at Chris' suitcase all laid out with his clothes mixed with Baby E's, I knew we needed a pictures. How precious is this:
Daddy's stuff and his little girl's, all together. I called my parents in to take a look at the suitcase and Dad patted Chris on the back saying, "Well, it won't be the last time her stuff takes over yours."
Now my amazing husband will have two women in his life who think he's the bees knees. Does life get much better than that?
I'm so glad you loved your shower! It looks like you got some pretty amazing stuff! For my sisters shower last year we made a scrap book too, and she loved it!
ReplyDeleteI've always been a sucker seeing dads with their little girls. I just posted a pic on dropshots of Vivi (in her snowwhite dress) and Kyle...She always asks him to be her prince...and he always says yes. Little girls are precious with their daddies :-)
ReplyDeleteIt was a great weekend. We all celebrated pink!! The shower was such a celebration with the people who have prayed for Baby E! My heart overflows! Love,
