Chris came home Saturday and says, “Do you want to run a 5K? The band is doing it.” I said “”sure, when?” “Three weeks.” “Okay. Do you want to run it with me?”
Laughter.
“Oh come, on. It’s just 3.6 miles. That’s a breeze.”
“And besides, Mom, your mother in law, ran a 5 K.”
(Yeah, I totally threw the MIL card down on the table. I am that evil.)
He then gave me some lame excuse about not being able to train for this in the next three weeks. Blah, blah, blah.
To quote Austin Powers, “I say zip it. Zip it good.”
So what say you, husband? Up for the challenge?

Luke would do it. Double gauntlet.
ReplyDeleteEveryone has their part to play in the marathons. Maybe the race is best served with Chris in a supervisory position. (Chris, you can thank me later). Dad.
ReplyDeleteThe man walks almost as fast as I run. Of course he is a little more than 20 years older than me. I say he can do it! Love, Mom (MIL) :)
ReplyDeleteOops! He's a little more than 20 years YOUNGER than me! Sorry Chris! It's past my bedtime! MIL:)
