Just because…

For those of you who are regular readers, you should know that this is not Robin; it’s Chris and I’m making my first official entry on the blog. I feel like I owe it to my wonderful wife. She is fabulous with words…me…not so much. However, that doesn’t mean that she doesn’t deserve for someone to tell her how much she is appreciated. So this post is just because…

She is a fabulous encourager. When someone is having a rough time, she thinks to send them a card to tell them she is thinking and praying for them. It’s not a manipulation either. She doesn’t do it because she wants something from that person; she does it because she cares about them.

She works at being a good wife. As many of you know, being a good husband or wife is hard work. You cannot simply do x, y, and z and then you’re done. It’s a constant and conscious effort. 8 years into marriage and she still wants to know how she can be a better wife. Seems like a lot of women and men have no interest in improving their marriage…it is what it is. I’m lucky to have someone who doesn’t feel that way.

She works hard at everything she does. This might be my favorite, since people sort of think I’m a freak of nature when it comes to working hard (if you have met my Dad though, you know I’ve got nothing on him). You don’t get the jobs that Robin has had without working hard and you certainly don’t keep them without knowing what you are doing. From the hotel to her current job, she has never given anything less than 100%. When she wants something, she goes after it and you’d better not get in her way. I know I don’t :-).

So this post is for you my love. I am so glad you are on life’s journey with me. I couldn’t do it without you.
