The Return of The Crud…

I know ya’ll have been waiting like a groom standing at the alter for me to tell you if we did, in fact, break down and use some of that bread in our pantry. And I am happy to report, we resisted the temptation for even toast and managed not to eat one single slice. I also resisted the urge to throw it out thinking maybe we’ll use it for garlic toast this week. Doubtful but hope springs eternal.

I am also happy to report that Ike brought us some rain and a little wind but nothing major. We even ventured outside to get Chris some lunch at Wendy’s on Saturday. I could easily never eat a Wendy’s hamburger for the rest of my life but Chris prefers them. And there’s the whole Oreo Twisted Frosty thing. I skipped that too. If it’s not an Oreo Homespun Shake from Chick-fil-a, its not worth the calories.

For the most part, we did nothing. Chris has The Crud again. He gets this twice a year like clock-work. Basically, when the seasons change, the sinus infection comes knockin’. He wipes himself out working 12-14 hour days so it’s really not a surprise. Needless to say, he didn’t feel like installing the kitchen knobs which is really a good thing since I never bothered to purchase any.

I did all the laundry on Saturday while Auburn was attempting to put an offense on the field. Seriously, I know this whole concept is brand spankin’ new and I’m all for trying something different but if it’s not working, then let’s try mixing’ it up some. And really, let’s not blame the darn cowbells. If you play State there, you get the cowbells. It’s pretty much a package deal. Therefore, not a surprise.

Meanwhile, our Sooners were blowing Washington away. The contrast between the two schools is amazing. Defense verses “let’s hang half a hundred on ‘em and go home”. The second approach…way more effective during regular season play. And more enjoyable. Although, by the time my head was throbbing so much I had to literally stop watching Auburn, OU was so far ahead I wasn’t interested in watching that either.

And so what reward did Auburn receive for winning 3 – 2? College GameDay! Yippee. That means there will be a ZILLION people in Auburn instead of the BILLION I was expecting. And yes, I realize my take on this is completely selfish since we've already spent several Saturday's with the game day crew.

Okay, so the other thing I did this weekend was try to figure out what the heck to wear to Auburn on Saturday. I didn’t make much progress. Here’s the thing, it’s supposed to be a high of 82 and a low of 63. For me, that’s a little chilly all the way around but 63 at night might just be down right cold. Again, just speaking for myself here. Chris said “That’s perfect!” Well, yea for you. So I dug out all my orange and navy “stuff” to try and decide exactly what the perfect combination of layering will be. I feel certain my denim jacket will slide in there somewhere too but for the purpose of this exercise, I focused solely on those two colors.

I think, maybe, possibly, I’ve gone a little crazy with orange lately. Anyway, if ya’ll have some suggestions, I would be most grateful. Right now, I think I’m taking it all. Good thing Southwest doesn’t charge for luggage.

  1. I'm just anxiously awaiting whatever news she has tomorrow. I'm praying that God will put aside her medical, scientific and statistical knowledge and speak through her to tell us exactly what He wants us to do. I don't think that is asking too much!

I love the decision making pictures for your outfit - I will attest that it is a big decision! But remember that 82 is still hot in the deep south - remember the humidity! Layering is probably the right answer! I have not even begun to think about what I will wear yet. I'll worry about that after tomorrow!

Thanks for the thoughts - I thought about you several times as well - I was hoping Ike did not find you!

  2. Hmm...decisions, decisions... I think that I can definitely say you have indeed gone a little overboard with the orange lately. :-) If you go with a tank top on bottom, short- to 3/4-sleeves next and carry a top layer to go with it, you'll be prepared for all variations in temperature throughout the day. It's a little difficult to tell from the pictures exact styles appropriate to mix and match. :-) On another note, I may be coming to join y'all! My Saturday class is cancelled, so it's probably one of the only other ones I'll make it to. No ticket yet, and a pitiful excuse of a game yesterday, but that's beside the point. Now I've gotta go decide what to wear...

  3. I went to school straight from August of 1997 - August 2001 - it was HOT! And I didn't live on campus so I had to park in east buddah and hoof it all the way to Parker, Hayley and the Business Building! Luckily that parking lot that used to be really close to the business building was there then!

  4. I am heading out of the school building and straight to Ann Taylor Loft with my allowance. I am thinking a denim skirt and three quarter length orange shirt and our family's body heat to keep me warm as the night progresses. I don't know if your mom told you but Noah will be tailgating with us :) He is in search of an outfit too. It's a little difficult to find smocked tiger bubbles or jon jons here in T-town!

  5. 7.3 is great - you have a lot of options! If ya'll can get the male factor figured out you should be able to do IUI several times before moving on to the big guns. And if you have to - it will be fine - IVF was a piece of cake up until the part that it stopped working. But that probably happens to like 1% of the population.
