This feels kinda like the 2000 Presidential Election…

You remember watching the news coverage for days not knowing if that last remaining hanging chad would be the answer to our presidential conundrums? Well, that’s kinda how the results have left us. We’ve got some answers but not all. There are more votes to be counted. Apparently everyone has a different opinion and well, not sure ours counts for very much.

But I am very happy to report that after Chris came home from his Cougar Kickoff (in my day we called those pep rallies but that’s way too pedestrian now) around 8:00 pm, he took a shower and then we laid in bed laughing about not only our situation but several other things going on in our life.

And babe, don’t forget you owe me a picture today.

Thank you all for your calls, emails and text messages yesterday. I even got one from “Long Lost Cousin” Kimberly! We had a nice email chat yesterday and some of it was pretty funny so I thought I’d share.

Kimberly teaches kindergarten which along with my mother, sister-in-law and husband makes her a candidate for sainthood. Except for we’re Baptist and don’t really do that but you get the point. She was telling me about how exhausting it is to keep repeating the same few phrases over and over. Here’s the conversation:

Kimberly: We’re now in week 3. I forget how exhausting teaching Kindergarten is the first month of school because they know NOTHING!! I swear I’m going to come up with some remote control that spouts off at the touch of a button the important catch phrases the first few weeks of school to save my voice some wear and tear. Hands to yourself. Raise your hand. Sit on your bottom. Blah. Blah. Blah. Makes me tired just typing it!

Robin: If it makes you feel any better Chris has to the give the same instructions to his high school-ers. Only when teenagers don’t keep their hands to themselves, people get pregnant.

I do have to say, I’ve been giving the remote control idea some serious thought. Although I would have mine spout off all our health information including past surgeries and family medical history. I actually left off my knee surgery once thinking that my knee has absolutely nothing to do with my ovaries and uterus. The doctor sees the scar and tells me I need to let him decide what’s important information and what is not. Gotcha.

I feel pretty certain that’s the way Al Gore felt. How about you let me decide if that hanging chad is a vote for me or not?

  1. So what did you find out?? Hope everything went well. Dr. H is calling today at 10:30 to discuss the cost/benefit of acupuncture/herbs with the person she recommended. I'm so confused.

  2. That isn't too bad if the motility and morphology are normal. My doctor said that if its at least 2 million total motile its worth a shot. When they thought I was normal she wanted to try 3 unmedicated IUI's and then look at IVF but after the first one and the medicine had not done anything her concern was about morphology - it was about 10% for us. Anyway - I'll be praying for ya'll and my "professional opinion" is that its worth a chance to let God do His thing!

  3. WAR EAGLE - lets watch/listen to some Auburn football this weekend and get our mind off of this painful stuff! Have you seen the game day T shirt - I'm going to try to post it in a sec. Have a good Labor Day weekend!
