It's hot...
The temperature in Texas today is 107 with a heat index of 112.
We are both wearing next to nothing, running all of our fans, drinking ice cold beverages and still sweating like pigs.
Why? Because we also live in a de-regulated energy state and to run the air conditioning any lower would likely double our already ridiculous power bill.
We bought blackout curtains for our bedroom. While hot, sweatin', lovin' looks oh so cool in a movie, it's soooo not in real life. I've seriously considered taking a cold bath. I suspect it would be more refreshing than most of the pools around town. I'm hearing rumors that the pool water has been in the low 90's.
Here's the question: How in heaven's holy name are people in San Antonio not just melting in their Nikes?
So I'd love to tell you what a wonderful weekend we had but A) I'm too hot to think about it and B) we only left the house to go to church, get blackout curtains and do the grocery shopping. Other than that, we've been in doors. Sweating.
The good news we're expecting a cold front by the end of the week. It's supposed to dip down to 99 by Saturday. Woo-hoo.
