While the Parents Were Away...

Us being apart from the kids and the kids being apart from us was difficult for approximately no one.

Except maybe Nana.

Don't get me wrong, I missed them.  Saturday, I was super anxious to get back to them.  But I wasn't dying or going crazy or anything like that.

The kids were roughing it with Nana.  Who does an excellent job of spoiling them rotten.  We always come back with a big ole Nana Hangover.  Cookies for breakfast.  Lunchables anytime they wanted.  Juice boxes.  Mac n'Cheese for dinner.  Every dinner.

Clearly, they were suffering.

On Wednesday, they dropped me off at the airport and headed for the Zoo.  My kids LOVE a zoo.  That's all kids, right?

Mom did a great job of sending us pictures of their day.  Not that I was worried.  But I do love to see their precious faces.

I can't EVEN with this face of hers.  She looks like some despondent model.  What in the WORLD was she thinking about?  Had to be really serious.

Rhys is serious about approximately nothing.

This is a GREAT picture of these three!  Blonde and blue-eyed fabulousness.

Rhys, of course, fell asleep after the zoo.  I hear AK slept too.  For about twenty minutes.  But the girl had been up since 6 am so she was absolutely due a nap.

After she woke up, Nana got her the obligatory "Driving Rhys Around" ice cream snack.

Thursday, they went to the McWane Center.  We haven't been since the new Itty Bitty area opened back up.  They had a great time.  We always do at McWane.  So grateful Birmingham has that.

I think they did the park on Friday.  And played in the "Gym" at Nana's.  Which is the garage where Nana pulls out all her teacher tricks.

When I got in the car on Saturday, both kiddos were asleep.  Nana knows how to wear some kiddos out flat.

I am so grateful for my mom (and dad) and how they love the kids.  I didn't grow up spending the night at my grandparents' houses.  Or ever staying with them for an afternoon.  They were not those grandparents.  They loved us.  That I know.  But I am incredibly grateful my kids will have these memories of playing with my mom.  She's a get on the floor and play kinda nana.

What a blessing!

For me AND the Littles!
